The biblical day went from sundown to sundown, 6pm - 6pm.
Leviticus 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
Genesis 1
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
The bodies could not remain on the cross but had to be taken down by evening, 6pm, because that was the beginning of the high day sabbath.
John
31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
At dawn, the beginning of Sunday, the first day of the week, he had Already arisen. That means he arose on Sabbath. Can you post the scripture? Thanks.
I forgot to mention that Jesus Christ is Lord of the Sabbath!
Matt 28:1, Mk 16:2, Lk 24:1, Jn 20:1. Don’t give me speculations or theories, Jesus’s resurrection was based on eyewitness account. Can you post the scripture? Thanks.
Jesus ate Passover dinner with his disciples. Plainly stated. The lamb was sacrificed on the day of preparation, the day before the sabbath.
I don't think anyone knows the time of the resurrection. At dawn, the beginning of Sunday, the first day of the week, he had Already arisen. That means he arose on Sabbath.
He is Lord of the Sabbath.
What Sabbath day was Jesus crucified on?Praise Jesus! Crucified on Sabbath and Arisen on Sabbath
I also think YaHuWaH is correct! Love this chart!
You're confused, man.At dawn, the beginning of Sunday, the first day of the week, he had Already arisen. That means he arose on Sabbath.
He is Lord of the Sabbath.
So he rose on Saturday morning instead of Sunday? Then where was he the whole day from Saturday morning to Sunday morning - when the women arrived at the tomb? That timing is consistent in all four gospels.

Who saw his resurrection? Nobody. They saw him after he had already been resurrected.
No, he rose on Saturday afternoon before 6pm which would be Sunday. When the women arrived, he was already resurrected.
I already told you, Mary Magdalene was the first eyewitness, take it or leave it.
Sorry man, there's no verse to validate that, unless you believe that "in the middle of the week" in Dan 9:27 applies on a Wednesday in a 7 day week. The stone was rolled away on Sunday by an angel (Matt. 28:2), until then, there was a guard stationed outside the tomb (Matt. 27:62-66), and nothing happened.
I don't think anyone knows the time of the resurrection.
The scripture records that Jesus was witnessed to have risen on the third day.
She was the first eye witness that Jesus had been resurrected. She didn't actually see the resurrection because it had already taken place.
One Gospel account (Luke 23:56) tells of the spices and oils being bought before the sabbath and another (Mk. 16:1) after the sabbath. This apparent contradiction is explained by the fact that there were two Sabbaths that week – the special (Passover) sabbath when the Passover was eaten, and the weekly sabbath commencing 6.00pm on Friday.

Even there were two sabbaths, it would be friday and saturday in order to make sunday the "third day". Remember that a biblical "day" is 12 hours from 6 am to 6 pm, not 24-hourday. And there was no contradiction between Luke 23:56 and Mark 16:1. In Luke 23:56 the women returned FROM THE TOMB and prepared spices and oils BEFORE THE SABBATH, in Mark 16:1 they brought those spices and oil to the tomb. These two verses are actually complementary. Also, in all four gospels Passover was the Preparation Day BEFORE THE SABBATH, that's not the special sabbath. They had this day to settle all businesses so they didn't have to be concerned about anything on Sabbath.

None of these verses state that eye witness accounts of the resurrection. Nobody saw the actual resurrection. The women saw that the stone had been rolled away and no body was found.
A biblical 24 hour day is from 6pm to 6pm. A day and night make up the 24 hour day, 6pm - 6am being night, 6am - 6pm being the day. The two Sabbaths were not back to back. In one account, the women bought spices after the Sabbath (high day). In another account, the women bought spices before the Sabbath (weekly Sabbath).
Why are you stuck on Sunday being the third day? Just curious...
