Someone suggested two simple changes to cheeseburgers and I’m glad they did. If you like fried onions on your burgers, caramelize the onions in brown sugar, and rather than using ketchup, use chipotle mayonnaise. The sweet sugar and spicey mayonnaise work well together. 😋

How neat is that?

We were living with my friend, his wife and his non verbal autistic son, who was the same age as my youngest son (8), while our house waited to close.

My sons were as close to him as you could get with a vey autistic child.

My older son (10) had speaking parts, while my younger son just ran around with Zach.

They loved Veggie Tales, and wrote to the producers about Zach, and how much he loved them.

So the crew came and did a segment on him.

Pretty cool I can go into Walmart and buy a video with my boys in it.

That is awesome!
The whole story is.

Well, here is my story about that video:

When my daughter was little (almost a teen now, and also on the autism spectrum) she would be glued to most Veggie Tales, and that particular disc she would always light up while watching. We didn't know it was autism at the time, we just knew there were developmental delays and differences. The early education intervention teachers at school were cruel, and even the nursery workers at the couple churches we attended at the time were mean and nasty when talking about her time there. I was frustrated with life at that time, and often didn't parent well through that time (Often wish I could go back in time, not for the reasons of my kids are getting older, and I want to be back when they were cute and tiny but because of knowing what I know now that I didn't know about her then, and the "what if's" what if we had known? What if we had early intervention? etc)

Well, I remember crying to the Lord one day about concerns of if she knew Him because school was terrible, the churches we had been to with her were nasty, and even dad and I were not doing a great job of showing His love to her (at least that's how I thought and felt during that time). One day we were in Walmart, she had to be between 4-6 (cause I remember my youngest was in the cart and the other 2 were walking around) we came to the Veggie Tales videos, they were picking them up looking at them. ( there were a few newer releases we didn't have yet) She was clutching this one TIGHT, holding it to her chest. I thought it was one we didn't have, I finally managed to get her to let go, and when I saw the cover the Holy Spirit whispered to my heart "She knows" .

I almost had a boo-hoo moment right in the middle of Walmart.

Let's see, google tells me the release date for this video was 2007, and my story was sometime between 2012-2016.

I just find that fascinating that the video your kids were in is the video that ministered to my kid a few years later. :D

That IS an incredible story!

If you still have the video, go to I think it's called "Zach'z Story" in the special features.

Came right up when I looked!

Yeah!!!!! I was thinking about it while running errands today, and just thought I'd come home and look it up online :) now I don't have to.

That blessed my socks off today. Thanks for sharing it PennEd.

Is that your son, Jordan, at the beginning?

Thanks! Do pickles come into play with that combination?
