New York Times:
"Senator Susan Collins of Maine plans to vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, ensuring that President Biden’s nominee and the first Black woman to be put forward for the post will receive at least one Republican backer."
"But whether Ms. Collins’s support is singular or opens the door to Judge Jackson attracting the votes of other Republicans remained to be seen. The universe of potential backers from across the aisle shrunk on Wednesday with an announcement by Senator Thom Tillis, Republican of North Carolina, that he would oppose the nominee. Mr. Tillis, a member of the Judiciary Committee, had once been seen as a potential vote for confirmation."
I wrote a letter to Senator Collins :
Good morning Senator Collins,
I am greatly concerned that you have decided to vote to confirm Judge Jackson. If the judge is enabled to discern what is a woman, how can she speak about being a black woman? If a Biology major is needed to understand what is male and female, does that mean our K-12 schools that teach biology are ineffective?
In the context of Child pornography and the sentencing record of Judge Jackson, do you accept her reasoning for lowering the sentence of those who have distributed child pornography because the web enables people to get more child pornography? Do you have children or Grandchildren? I have questions for you that I did not hear you ask the judge. 1. what is a law? 2. What is the US Constitution? 3. what is Truth? 4. what is the role of a Judge? Do you know these answers, Senator?
I think you can figure out the answer for questions 1-3 but the answer to number four is:
FIDELITY! to the TRUTH.
I hope you remember that as you vote for this Judge who was only selected based on her Color as the President of the United States said. As a person of color, I am insulted that one would only select me based on my color and not on my ability to do the job I am asked to do. That is racist. Senator Collins, are you a woman or you can't say because you are not a Biologist?
Thank you for your time.
Very respectfully
