Thanks for the link 17Bees. I had a quick look so far and will look at one of his videos later. I am in the beginning stages of moving
I looked up Steve and he lives in Queensland which is east of Aus. I live in the west which is a shame as I would love to attend one of his workshops to learn the basics.
I am interested in learning just the basic things like making a veggie box out of pallets or something. Then you can put wheels and wheel it around and follow the sun if you have alot of shading in your yard. If you add a handle you can use it like a wheelbarrow and wheel it wherever you like. I have plenty of ideas I would like to try out.
I once posted an add on facebook in my area to enquire whether there was any mens shed that were open to women joining. I ended up getting over a hundred replies mostly from other women who were also keen on the idea. A few comments were from men who said the only time women should be allowed to enter a mens shed was to provide lunch or clean up. Then a few women were upset with me for distinguishing between men and women and thought it was better to call it "people's shed" and wanted to know why I was asking for a male instructor and not a woman one. Then the LGBT people commented and a woman who was a queer witch (she called herself that) got involved and the whole post just went downhill. Amazing how a post that started off positive went so quickly downhill. Anyways nothing came of it. So I am still searching for how to make simple things out of wood from somebody who has the time (male, female, LGBT or anyone else who has the skills).
Anyways thanks for your reply and info.
