I'm just being a realist. The choice was to not admit the Ukraine to NATO, or start a war with Russia.
Lotta truth in that. Cursed if ya do and cursed if ya don't. And who's the master of curses.

No, they are pawns.
Kant was of the opinion that no human should be regarded as a means to an end, only as an end in themselves. While real-politik has it's place, I see that place as only within the context of Kant's categorical imperative maxim.

These things gotta come, I guess. I'm so glad I belong to Him!

They only have to come if one despairs of humanity. We Christians have faith, hope and love, and we should trust in these three graces. If we do, we find these things don't have to come, at all.

Best wishes, 2RM.

How far does that go? Can we faith hope and charity our way out from under the antichrist?

'To die, to sleep. To sleep, perchance to dream.
Aye, there's the rub, for in that sleep of death what dreams may come?'

While in a coma at the hospital, I died. I later recalled being in a city that was like a park. It had a golden mist clinging to the ground.
I turned around and Jesus was less than 3 feet from me, looking me in the eye. I could feel His love for me. He was smiling at me.
I've been in pain, ill, and for the most part, alone for many years. Life is enduring it all. I long for the day it ends. And I'm not depressed.
I know where I'm going. I know what it feels like. This life is a mist...here and then gone.

This reminds me of the aphorism that we are not humans, having a spiritual experience, but spirits, having a human experience. I rather like this latter perspective.

Our bodies are machines that we travel through this life in.

While we are here, we will walk out His plan for our lives, doing His good will.

Fascinated. Richard Dawkins would go you so far, that our that our bodies are machines. The question is, is their ultimate aim purposelessness (the propagation of genes) or purposeful (the development of spiritual stature)?

I'm inclined to agree. Though I wouldn't phrase it that way. Credit whenever credit is due. I'm sure that Dawkins has forgotten far more about biology than I have ever learned.

Best wishes, 2RM
