I heard that when he was practicing our accent and slang that he came to a town not far from me and sat in waffle house or some diner and just listened to people talk. Be that truth or not I can not say.

Mayhaps the problem was the customers were "passing through" the South from somewhere up North? That would explain why he did such a poor job with the accent............or, should I say axent?

I read in a book once, probably written by some foreigner, that Alabama was considered a drive through state.

C’mon?

Only places he’d been to was B’ham and Mobile. I dare say that those two places not necessarily offer a full blown Bama experience lol.
