Looking at events from Russia. I remember still the Cuban missile Crisis in the fall of 1962 when I was almost 14 years old. it was a time when the world seem to be falling apart, a time of hopelessness for the younger generation with the threat of nuclear war. president Kennedy was determined not to let Russian missiles onto cuban soil as the distance was only a hundred miles away. People were stock piling food, digging underground safe places, even among my own family. Eight ships loaded with missiles heading to Cuban was a time when ship was against ship. It was the closest the world ever came to nuclear war.
Russia government see's a similar suituation in Ukraine and Poland. To Russia, Ukraine and Poland is a buffer zone. Time is shortly going to come when the unthinkable will happen. Nation against nation meaning gentile against gentile.

It is very thinkable. As you have done it will be done to you. The Lord is not going to ignore what happened during WWII

They will not stop you because they cannot stop you, for the Lord God has dealt them defeat in everything they do because they have fought against the Lord God. I recall being in school, hearing the air raid siren (practice) and hiding under my desk. I think it was grade one. War was still fresh in people's minds. Today's lackadaisical attitude towards peace among so many reminds me of an old Joni Mitchell song, "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone."
Joni never did like parking lots.
You must be older than me, I have no recollection of hiding under desks.

It would've been '64. Grade one. The post office, which was about 3 or 4 miles away, had a high tower with an air raid siren on top of it. A large part of what is now Mississauga would've heard it.
I think that if we hear of nuclear war today, it will be when we experience it first-hand. Our media is so managed that I think we hear what they allow us to hear.

Yes, many of you reminded me how we practiced hiding under our desks or in the hallways. As an update on the war of words Russia declares it will not refrain or exclude Cuba from military assets. Almost like a repeat of history.

I just did a brief check to see where the Def-Con level was at before today and the 2 sites I checked said it was 3.
Def-Con 2 would mean that we're 1 step away from war with Russia. Which is what I believe the low-lifes want.
But it's on the other side of the world, so there's nothing to be concerned about, right?
Maybe there's nothing to worry about. Perhaps nothing will come of it. Perhaps we'll all get our best lives now!

According to this posting the Def Con2 was for the Mid East but I can't see Russia attacking us in the Mid East without attacking us in the US as well.

If war starts with Russia, all bets are off! It wouldn't surprise me if war did start...everything else in the world is so whacked!
I was watching a video of the 2004 tsunami a few days ago. At first, all the water from the bay disappeared. Many people, including tourists, walked out onto the bare ground! This was shortly after a major earthquake had hit the area!
And then the waves started coming in. People just stood there watching them until it was too late! It seems like we're surrounded by waves but so many deny they even exist!
Some of us need to stay away from wells, lest we get thrown into them!
Like sheep to the slaughter! Oh, well!

Actually if they had been smart they would have run all the way out and dived into the water, might have survived.

I saw a video of one guy standing on the bay bottom. A wave of white foam that was at least 20 feet high, a literal wall of water, may have been going 100 miles an hour when it hit him. He just stood there, watching it come. At the last second, he turned his back to it. He didn't seem afraid. I don't think he understood what was about to happen to him. It killed him.
