My tongue isn't "slipping," but I am not following my own words above, today. What bothers me more than anything is people playing word games with the Word of God. Of course, there is blatant lying about Scripture, which is equally troublesome, but game-playing in open, public forum for the entire world to see . . . it is wholly, completely, and totally disgusting. To me, it feels equivalent to Christ becoming angry and upturning tables within His Fathers Temple.

this is not the gospel, but what happens after we have accepted Christ

transformation has as much to do with what we put into our walk as does the Holy Spirit teaching us as we do so. this is not work, but rather meeting our Savior and spending time with Him...we find God even now when we search for Him with all our hearts...we are not burdened with some sort of performance or expectation of certain achievements according to a timetable of manmade understanding anymore than Paul expected to be confronted on the road to Damascus and having his life utterly turned upside down

we all have a starting point and the transformative power of our faith starts that new life

the op seems to wish to create an understanding of the word gospel that is actually not biblical

the word gospel itself, simply means GOOD NEWS

so what is the good news? Paul never commits to preaching any gospel save the one he came to understand after his conversion

15 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. I Corinthians 15: 1-6

it would not be the gospel without Christ's resurrection and the reason for the resurrection was His sinless nature

everything Paul wrote after that was either explanation or correction of this gospel and not his own

yes he does but perhaps do some research as to what 'other gospel/gospels' he was referring to

those who would deny Christ in the flesh, those who preached the flesh was sinful so sin anyway since your spirit is blameless and various other errors of the day and in this century, we have myriad 'other gospels' which are not the gospel of Christ

another gospel does not mean preaching or teaching the actual gospel in specific words or presentations according to manmade speculation or understanding for Jesus said 'The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know from where it comes and where it goes. Thus is everyone having been born of the Spirit.' John 3:8

Paul did not preach another nor his own gospel

for some reason, this appears to offend you

you quoted one sentence out of my post which hardly reflects what I actually said

I consider that childish and the behavior of someone who actually rejects all but their counsel

perhaps all those pastors rejected your snark as much as anything else

listen....I have been on this forum for years and have actually had some good solid discussion with Blain but not under my current username

there is no attack. it sounds more like you are the one with the hate problem since no one can match your endless verbiage of false accusations

you are speaking against other posters here in a manner that suggests you alone believe you are worthy and saved and can judge them

I made no secret that I do not care for what you post, but I am not suggesting that others turn away from you

you are bordering on being reported...if you want to talk against other posters and be nasty and gossip, take it to pm

The gospel of Christ who gave it to Paul to give to us. That is simple. 1 Corinthians 15: 3,4.
Rom_1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom_1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
Rom_16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
It is all the same gospel Paul preached. This is the gospel you need to believe to be saved.
