First you have to work inside the research community by getting a master's degree or a PHD...
Then you work inside the community for 20+ years.
Then you can speak intelligently on the subject.
What I have noticed about these people is that they are a close nit group, patting each other on the back, and staying in step with the program.
Very little if any independent thinking or questioning those in charge.
God forbid they rock the boat and lose their elite status.
