We have the Bible which contains both covenants The Law and Prophets and the New Testament. The Entire Bible is meant to be part of our growth in Christ because His Words are Spirit and they are life. The Spirit of God , The Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus wrote it. We are transformed by the renewing of our minds by reading it . We cooperate with the Spirit of God to bring us to the measure of stature of Christ by studying it while it does its work. We are made partakers of His divine nature by exceeding great and precious promises. Stay in the Book !! OLD or NEW Law Or Grace "The Words that I speak to you they are Spirit an they are life" > I remember waiting for my chance to attend a Bible school back in 75 it was at a discipleship ranch back in the Jesus People days. The students would come out of the class on a break and I would look at them up the hill. Glowing with the light of life from being in the Presence of the Lord and His Word. The Word of God is meant to change us . Old or New Testament it is profitable for correction , reproof, instruction in righteousness.

It is a promise of blessing that comes with prayer. It is found in the 4th Chapter of Phillipians v 6-7
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

It is a promise that if we are prayerful He will keep us in His peace. Phiilipians 4:6-7 >>>>>

The saints will live in His kingdom when we pass from this kingdom of the world in our kind of death, but we don't know exactly what that will be like. It is called mansions in the sky. But we know that we are to choose to live in that kingdom while still on earth, and given things we are to do on earth if that is our choice. One instruction is to live in repentance of sin. We can't live without sin, but we are told to give God our will, God wills us not to sin.

When that which is perfect is come then that which is in part shall be done away. My gut is that it will a sin-free existence like eternally. Eye has not seen ear has not heard neither has it entered into the heart of any man the things which God prepared for them that love him.

What was burdensome was not he spirit of the law, it was the fleshly commands of fleshly things to do to lead them to the law like cutting skin. Cutting skin is not and never was from God's love, it was a schoolmaster to lead them to using it to identify themselves as belonging to the one true God. It was a command that Christ took away.

And the law does have to do with love. Can you murder if you love? Can you bare false witness if you love? You you manage to separate the love and the law?

Christ gives us His righteousness when Christ forgives our sin. Are you saying you reject the righteousness you are given, but you are still deep in sin and dead in your sins? You say you use the law ONLY to tell you how you fail, that you live in failure? If you would accept the gift God wants to give you of forgiveness, you could live in the righteousness that is gifted to you by the Lord.

You can't have this gift of righteousness if you decide you accept sin and not the law that tells you what sin is that you hare to give up in repentance.

Hold on, please! What does "the law" say about murder, what is the true law!!! Please read scripture. The OT gave the law in stone with rules, they did not have the holy spirit to lead them to the true law. Christ came and gave us the true law, the spirit of the law.

Where in the world does that say I personally am thinking of murdering someone? If we met on the stree, even, you wouldn't recognize me and here you are asking if I am thinking of murdering, getting this idea out of the air. You behold one or the other. You behold your Righteousness which is in Christ. Or you behold your un-righteousness which is in the Law.

There is no blending of the two. However, beholding your Righteousness in Christ will necessarily cause you to walk in righteousness and you will be more holy and righteous than those who declare to follow the law or that they are "obedient".


I totally understand that we all want to be obedient to the Lord. I get it. But working at the Law is not the way.

The law challenges our sin nature and we find ourselves wanting.
Our sin nature can never be perfected it has to die. The pride of life itself is offensive to God.
The law is a mirror image of our hearts. Murder, adultery, envy, strife, pride, hate, ect. All our found in ones heart.
We cannot be conformed by the practice of the law but we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
Rebellion comes from the pride of life.
All that jesus did brought glory to God for he made himself of no reputation.
Not only is sin a act but also a thought. Thoughts can be expressed in words. Jesus said its what proceeds out of ones mouth that defiles.
Sin also creeps into our motives, why we do things. Are they to glorify God our to glorify ourselves.
As john the baptist said so truly....I must decrease...Christ must increase.

You are pushing for "answers to your questions". You are poking into my personal life where you certainly do no belong. If I may translate this awful mess into questions about scripture, I will give your my interpretation of scripture.

I do not believe God wants us to hold onto sin, we are to repent of it and give it to the Lord for forgiveness. That is NOT holding onto sin. The sin is gone, forgotten, forgiven.

I don't think we should speak against obedience to the commands of the Lord.

My favorite book other than the Bible is the power of the Blood of Jesus by Andrew Murray, followed by the Blood of the Cross by the same author. The answer is in laying hold of the eternal with our faith. I cannot send you my copies but you can get them on Amazon. In a nutshell faith in the Blood has gone to something of Eternal Value.

I believe he is referring to circumcision with regard to cutting skin not murder unless I missed something somewhere ?

I don't think we should speak against obedience to the commands of the Lord.

Christians do not speak against obedience to God's commandments. But Christ already summed up those commandments in the Law of Love. Therefore Paul made this blanket statement: For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the Law. (Rom 13:9,10)

What is Paul saying? Every commandment in the OT is covered under this Law. But this love is agape, which comes from the indwelling Holy Spirit because it is God's love, described as "charity" in 1 Corinthians 13. And it is the greatest spiritual gift according to the Bible.
