To reiterate the noose is slowly tightening. In Australia they round up people who aren't even sick and put them into quarantine camps even if they test negative for Covid. In Austria and Greece they have prohibitive fines for anyone who is not vaccinated so that for 90% of the populace they cannot afford to say no to the vaccine. Germany has mandated the vaccine for everyone. Many countries will not allow you to get on an airplane or a train without a vaccine passport. NY says it is a felony to have a counterfeit vaccine passport, which can be understood to mean it is a felony to go anywhere a vaccine passport is required if you don't have one.
It is much harder to require a vaccine passport for people in cars, but it can be done. In the US we have "easy pass" which is an electronic device that pays the toll as you drive. It would be a simple thing to have the easy pass know who does and does not have a vaccine passport and if you were driving without one the cops would pull you over. The principle with this is the same as the principle with planes, trains, and cruise ships. The difference is that it is more difficult to implement. But legally NY saying no unvaccinated can enter their state is the same as Australia saying that.
Let's remember it is taking 3-6 months to go from wild conspiracy theory to fact. 6 months ago quarantine camps were wild conspiracy theories, fines for unvaccinated, making it a felony to be unvaccinated, and requiring vaccine passports were all at one time in the distant past of 3-6 months a wild conspiracy theory.

NYC and Long Island would be the easiest to shut off. You can't get out of Long Island without going through a major bridge or tunnel (or the ferry -- if they seal off NYC you could leave Long Island via the Ferry but the line on that would probably become ridiculous after one day).
It would be possible to leave by bicycle as you can ride across the Brooklyn bridge and then go all the way North into Westchester. That is a very long bike ride for anyone not used to riding a bike and since you don't have a vaccine passport you wouldn't be allowed to eat anywhere or sleep anywhere on the way.

I heard this on tucker Carlson tonight on Tuesday. However, it seems what I understood them to be saying wasn't the same as what they were actually doing. I thought you were not allowed to leave your house without a vaccine passport, but what it really is that you can't enter a business without a vaccine passport.
