Third guess? That would have been my fifth. My third would have had something to do with the qualms you have expressed about being able to adapt to the dog, and the possibility that you think the dog will not be around when you find a date.
Perhaps a doggie bag.

The name "Christian Singles Forum" makes people think it is being used in the context of dating, but then people say it isn't. So it's just another Christian forum like any other with a lot less Bible discussion. Why not drop the pretense and just merge this with the Miscellaneous formum?
This is a place for single people to hang out and chat in a safe environment. Married people are allowed to hang out here because if we banned them we would have to kick out a lot of really cool people who make a lot of helpful, insightful and/or amusing comments.

For the people who have a problem with this thread, I don’t see why! I think that this forum was created so people can look for a Christian spouse in a place that you don’t have to look SO hard to find someone who wants a Christian relationship and to court each other properly. Just the same way that people meet their spouses at church. This is a place you can connect with someone who has the same big picture as you, and somewhere where you don’t have to embarrassed or ashamed of your flaws. I personally love the idea.

Well... it never has worked that way in all the years I've been here.

I mean sure, a few people have paired up. But NONE of the people who came here looking for a spouse ever found so much as a date. Not a single one. All the people who paired up were ones who just came here to hang out and chat.

So if somebody comes here looking for a date, it seems the best way to find one is to hang out and chat. A lot.

Here is my dating profile. Thoughts appreciated:

I like walking, reading, trying new recipes, traveling, and learning/talking about theological issues. Friends say I have a laid-back and mellow personality, but I'm always ready for an adventure! I have lived in the X area for the past X years. I am an ISFJ (the test results state that I am 93% introverted, but I disagree!). I am looking for my guy best friend. :) The most important factors for me are that he is Christian, hard-working, and has a cheerful mood.

I'd default to the "What's the point? You'd never be interested anyway" option.

12+ years of ineptness after a good marriage just reinforces one's insecurities.

If I were serious, I might say something like,

Christian man, 57yo, widowed... Myriad interests and hobbies... Goofy humor...

Stocky / overweight (but not obese :)); shaved scalp, hazel-green eyes, graying goatee (from dark brown); fair / olive-ish complexion; 5'6".

Christian walk has many flaws, but I mean business in seeking God daily.

Politically conservative / classically liberal.

Living in AZ, but a native New Yawka, complete with the 'tude :D

Praying that God gives me a planet someday inhabited by Toho monsters.

What's great are the profiles girls post that say, "I'm fluent in sarcasm, ha ha."

I reply, "Really? That's great!"

They get confused. "I'm just kidding."

Well that clears things up. "You don't know what 'fluent' means, do you?"

My favorite phrase is, "I live life to the fullest." What the HEY does that mean? Are you jumping out of planes while landing on Mt Everest, skiing to the bottom? I hate that stupid cliché, but too often I read that in dating profiles.

Another favorite is their interests list, which includes fascinating items like "hanging with friends and family, fine dining and nights on the town". That's your interests list?? Those are you passions / hobbies??

C60DD08D-F03D-4E0C-A46D-F99872BED9C4.jpg A little about me: I am an introvert, but can pretend to be an extrovert when necessary. I love to laugh and crack jokes with one or two people.

I am independent, and dreadfully afraid of depending on anyone, except my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for anything in life. I cant promise to be submissive, but i can promise to be humble and respectful.

I am a no nonsense woman. Cheating, abuse, lying and wasting my time will not be tolerated🙅🏾‍♀️.

Eating with wooden sticks is way too difficult and primitive.

That's why the fork was invented. :p

I love being single and remaining single for the rest of my life. I have all the good qualities of being a good husband and friend, but not interested in being tied down, I couldn’t stand the idea of being controlled. A good bud is all I need. I’ve had women chase me, and I thank God for legs, I became the Running Man. 😂

I need to find someone to teach me how to use chopsticks.
I love those things. It slows my eating down. I go from being ravenous with a fork and then prim and proper with chop sticks. Still need a fork or spoon at the very end though, chopsticks just can’t pick up the rest, which is very important. The end scraps are the most tastiest.

Chopsticks are great for flipping bacon and eating salad and grabbing tea bags out of hot water if their strings fall in.
