the thing is we all fall short in one way or another however there are Christians out there who are very judgemental blind to their own failings such people are often spoken about in churches and I have even come across them but lord forbid you should question their judgement.
There are also good believers out there who don't really point out your failings but rather express and remind you to work and live in Christ, as we are instructed to instruct others and help guide each other in this walk.
The problem is the word judge it actually has several different meanings one of them is to look down upon another is to decide or discern and of course you have a judge who judges things. It is not always the same scenario when this word is used, sometimes people hate being called out of what they know they should not do and so say who are you to judge me and quote the verses in the op but they fail to consider this verse as well
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousnes notice the pattern in the wordings, teaching reproof correction and training. we are called to help each other stay strong in Christ walking the path of righteousness the words used for this all have a sense of doing so even if you point out something they need to work on this is correction and correct judging
yep I couldn’t agree more I think the idea is forst I need to walk on the light of the gospel my own self learn from the actual judge of all Mankind learn his judgements and then apply them as if they are meant to instruct and teach me my own self first.
what happens is that Jesus teaches us that “ I’m a sinner also just like the person I’m looking at and knowing they are sinning and need to repent “
Believing and learning Jesus teachings it causes us to approach one another knowing I need mercy because I’m nOt perfect and so does this Other imperfect person they need me to deal with them like I care about them and we’re in the exact same boat.
it’s not that I’m saved and perfect and they better change thier ways or else . It’s we all need to start living according to Christ and the gospel tonthe best of our ability and yes offering good sound advice to someone in private between one brother and another is condoned and taught in scripture .
go alone forst bwtween you and the person you feel you need to correct in private and discuss the situation you perceive Thy age always going to be the first move in Christ if we think we need to “ correct “ someone else then to go with another fellow believer who cares about the person and address it again in private between the three of you , then thirdly to the church leadership and church itself we should bring the matter of the person persists and just refuses to listen to us the first , second times .
it’s all taught writhing a context of one United Church body but not instructions for us individually to go around making sure everyone else walks perfectly when truthfully all Of us have changes we can be making in life that can be a better more Obedient walk with Jesus.
pointing out to others in a crowd , “calling someone out “ for their sin , and Christians grouping yo
On one those types of things aren’t condoned and taught and in fact sre rebuked by the lord
we surely don’t condone sin and allow it to fester in the church but there’s a way we are taught to address it privately so as not to invite others into the controversy
I personally prefer to let Christ be the judge of Others according to thier own measure of faith and also rewardingly he’s also the only one who gets to judge
Me because of all
People he knows every step I take , thought and intent I have , he knows of my heart belongs to him or the world he knows my words and deeds and most importantly he’s the only one on all
Creation who can give eternal
Life , or condemn to the lake of fire
I just my own self am going to think along these lines forever because I’m unworthy to be anyone else’s judge I’m being judged daily and will be forever by my judge
“For I know nothing by myself;
yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.”
1 Corinthians 4:4-5 KJV
“For
to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
But
why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother?
for
we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
Let us not therefore judge one another any more:
but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.”
Romans 14:9-13
we want to help each other live better lives but we don’t want to be an accuser like the Pharisees and priests of Moses law. And if we find our own demand for others is pretty strict we can accept the t our own judgement will be the same.
I’ve found that it’s only Jesus who can do this
“Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”
Luke 7:47-50 KJV
a man would judge a known sinner guilty like this
“Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.”
Luke 7:39 KJV
Jesus saw the same sinner making her way to him and rewarded her with salvstion and forgiveness of all
Her many sins
I want him to be the judge for everyone’s sake men aren’t worthy we’re not able to
Look at our own selves first
I believe just sharing and preaching hearing believing the gospel is what brings us into the right ways to learn Jesus ways
