Matthew 22:37-40
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

Which of these two commandments does keeping the Sabbath fall under?
Love God Jesus because when you love Jesus you do sabbath, people who not working on sabbath but don't love Jesus not do sabbath

God rest on sabbath, which sabbath, Washington sabbath or London sabbath

The Sabbath has not occured yet. God has not rested (John 3:17) and we can enter His rest when Jesus returns and claims His kingdom. Only then will creation be complete and Man will finally be in the image of God.

Of course that reference should have been John 5:17.

I think I see the point, but I'm not here to defend my opinion, I just want to answer questions :) I don't want to tell you "I think you are wrong because such and such" but just to help you understand my view if you are interested :)
I have no such reservations—you're wrong. Maybe not on everything, but on enough to make you a false teacher.

🤔 Interesting discussion, but no question here 🤔 since this is a "ask me" thread, this discussion is quite off topic 😅 but you are welcome to ask any question or start any new thread :)
I'm not interested in getting indoctrinated into SDA doctrine, but here's some question for you: When was the last time you got alone with God and the Bible, just the two of you, no SDA dogma coming between you? When was the last time you were hungry for the truth, not some man-made religion?

But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (2 Peter 3:8)
God is so much bigger then us and beyond time and space which we can not comprehend. God has asked us, his creation, to remember the sabbath day each week. regardless of how big God is He has given us this command, and you keep ignoring it.

You are so sure you are right = arrogance. The point is for you to ask about points of doctrine that you see as wrong and disuse these points of doctrine openly and kindly, to see if they are in line with the bible. You have already made up your mind,

You say the sabbath has not yet occurred ..... But clearly in Gen 2 God did sanctify the seventh day and rested. Clearly in the 4th commandment God askes us to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy like God did.
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

God will come and fix the sin problem and recreate the earth, Some of these things may have types, symbols, or parallels in the creation week but it does not mean you can throw out the weekly sabbath and ignore what God gave to mankind from the start.

Well I don't want to go around in circles. Jesus said God has not rested and I think He should know.
The Ten Commandments were given to the Jews, not to us and Jesus said all the law and the prophets hang on just two. Again, which of these two does keeping the Sabbath fall under?

I urge you to read, pray and meditate upon John chapter 5 up to verse 17. I believe verse 17 is the most stunning and amazing sayings of Jesus and quite literally ties the Bible together from Genesis to Revelation!

If so... Why did God say to remember to Sabbath and keep it holy.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Hebrews 4:1-3
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

This is not working at the Law and trying to not work on saturdays. This is being DEAD to the Law and Alive to God.

This is being given rest as a gift of God by faith in Christ.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Rest is not going back and working at the Law in your own understanding and strength. Rest is stopping your labour in your own understanding and strength and Trusting God.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

I keep quoting scripture but I know those who have not RECEIVED Rest, those who have not yet believed, have no understanding. But maybe these scriptures will spark a curiousity or a wonder and cause the reader to delve more deeply into what they don't understand. Maybe they will even pray for Wisdom and Knowledge in the Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
2 Corinthians 3:5-8
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

Hebrews 7:15-19
15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

What is that better hope??? The Lord Jesus Christ!!! The GIVER of Rest!!!!

SDA's are following after the WRONG Sabbath. They are following after religious tradition in their own imagination instead of following after GOD. This is a MAJOR STRONGHOLD of the enemy and it is WHY Paul fights against it in all of his epistles.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

It was changed to Sunday by a Papal Bull . The historical AntiChrist. Who according to Daniel , shall think to change times and laws
Where in History do we see that the Sabbath changed from Saturday to Sunday?

Second century

The Sabbath changed from Saturday to Sunday was a slow process that began before A.D. 150 and continued for three centuries. Prior to the Jewish revolt under Bar Cocheba, A.D. 132–135, the Roman Empire recognized Judaism as a legal religion and Christianity as a Jewish sect. But as a result of this revolt, Jews were condemned. To avoid persecution and observe statues that will not identify them with the Jews, some Christians out of fear began to attach some Sabbath sacredness to the first day of the week and observed both days for several centuries.

Fourth century

The Roman emperor Constantine, professed conversion to Christianity in an effort to unite the pagans and the Christians. He named himself Bishop of the Catholic Church and enacted the first civil law regarding Sunday observance in A.D. 321. He stated, “On the venerable day of the sun let the magistrate and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country however, persons engaged in agricultural work may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits; because it often happens that another day is not so suitable for grain growing or for vine planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost.” —Schaff’s History of the Christian Church, vol. III, chap. 75.

The first official action of the Catholic Church expressing preference for Sunday was enacted at the Council of Laodicea in 364 A.D. Canon 29 of this council stated that: “Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday [Sabbath], but shall work on that day; but the Lord’s day they shall especially honor, and, as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If, however, they are found Judaizing, they shall be shut out from Christ.”

The change of the Sabbath

The Roman Catholic Church publicly admits it is responsible for changing the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. An authoritative catechism for priests states: “But the Church of God [that is, the apostate church] has in her wisdom ordained that the celebration of the Sabbath day should be transferred to ‘the Lord’s day’” (Catechism of the Council of Trent, Donovan translation, 1829 ed., p. 358). This catechism was written by order of this great council, and published under the auspices of Pope Pius V.

You can't discuss with SDAs. They're not interested in give and take; they're out to convert you. Their modus operandi is to draw you in with surface level teaching, gain your trust, then gradually indoctrinate you.

It's the SDAs who are arrogant and never wrong. After all, they're God's chosen people, the only true church who holds the keys to salvation—primarily keeping the Sabbath. If you don't keep the Sabbath you're not sealed by God; if you worship on Sunday you have the mark of the beast.

If I sound arrogant to you I'm sorry. I stand up for truth, not lies. Maybe this will open your eyes:

"A great and solemn work is before us—to reach the people where they are. Do not feel it your bounden duty the first thing to tell the
people, 'We are Seventh-day Adventists; we believe the seventh day is the Sabbath; we believe in the nonimmortality of the soul,' and
thus erect most formidable barriers between you and those you wish to reach. But speak to them, as you may have opportunity, upon
points of doctrine wherein you can agree, and dwell on practical godliness. Give them evidence that you are a Christian, desiring peace, and that you love their souls. Let them see that you are conscientious. Thus you will gain their confidence, and then there will be time enough for the doctrines. Let the hard iron heart be subdued, the soil prepared, and then lead them along cautiously, presenting in love the truth as it is in Jesus Christ."—Ellen G. White, Manuscript Releases; Vol. 4, pg. 117; Letter 12,1887

Why do you choose a denomination.........none are biblical?
I choose a denomination because churches cast out people that have doctrines differing from them, and still, I am instructed to study the scripture and to be in harmony with my brothers about the understanding of the Scripture...

Act 17:11 KJV These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Phi 2:1-2 KJV 1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

2Pi 1:20 KJV Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Originally, Adventists were just a bunch of outcast. But we just got together and this made what men called a denomination.

I just think it's the Church, but I understand that it is called a denomination since we have a name.

...
Which of these two commandments does keeping the Sabbath fall under?
Both of them, but usually we highlight the first one.

Because I love God, I keep sacred the day he sanctified, out of respect for everything he did for me... In particular, out of respect for the creation, after which he rested on the seventh day, and respect for the redemption, after which he rested on the seventh day in the grave.

But also out of love for my neighbor. Indeed, this is a day of equality, where everyone deserve a day of rest, even the cattle or the stranger that is visiting, or any employee that I may have. On this day, the boss, the employee, the king or even the cow are free to rest, for all flesh were created by God and have rights. This is some God-given social justice, here!

Remember the sabbath allow me to remember what truly matter : creation, redemption, equality, respect ...

Exo 20:10-11 MKJV1962 10 But the seventh day [is] the Sabbath of the LORD your God. You shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger within your gates. 11 For [in] six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that [is] in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and sanctified it.

Hi, as I said I am a Seventh Day Adventist. The only reason this question answer post is here is because I have seen many people throw things at my Faith without really knowing what we believe.

So I will be answering any Bible questions you have if I can. Repeat BIBLE questions. Everything I believe and that my Church teaches is firmly based in Scripture and no where else.

Now I have a lot on my plate so please be patient with me. This post is not designed to argue but rather help those who wish to better understand our position. You do not have to agree with me in any way. I will however be using the bible to answer any questions. so if you need to discuss anything with me about a topic that you think I am wrong in then feel free. but use your Bible. I will not pay any heed to those who come in here and rant on their soap box without scripture to back them up.

In other words, lets be Christian about this. I have no need nor want to put others down. and will not respond to put downs and unchristian behaviour.

One other thing. I am a Seventh Day Adventist Pastor, and one thing I have learnt is that most Professed Seventh Day Adventists do not know what we actually believe. Why do I say this? Because While you may have read things about us and done some study. chances are, you don't understand half as much about our teaching as you think you do.

I do not pretend to know everything about how other faiths believe even though I used to be a pentecostal. I am not ignorant enough to think that I know them because I once was one. so please afford me the same respect.

That being said, May God bless us all as we draw closer to Him in truth and in Spirit.
Is Michael your God?

I am sorry you met such SDAs, and you are right, many are just trying to do that.
Fortunately, this is not all of us, and I'm really learning quite a few things from non-Adventists Christians and even non-Christian, about life and about the Bible. It would be really insane if it was not so.
Yes I'm here to give and take 🙂
(since you mentioned her, Ellen White also supports this attitude)
