A few individuals against vast numbers who contradict everything they say. My mother had a poor immune system, courtesy of decades of pain medication. She spent her last years in and out of hospital with serious infections. The last infection took her life. No such epidemic of infections is happening now. About 90% of Australia's population is double vaccinated. That's over 20 million people with a compromised immune system? No way is that possible. Surely common sense tells you that?

I do not believe in vaccine mandates, or people being forced to get a vax to keep their jobs, or go into places! I never said a word about you should get a vax. That is your own decision to make. I have said that over and over in this thread.

But, what I do not like is this myth about 98.5% of people recovering!! This means that if everyone got COVID in the US, 4,500,000 would DIE from COVID. That's a LOT of people.

And most of these people wouldn't be in the category of 18-29 year old healthy people. NO! Instead, they would have some risk factor or more than one.

People with diabetes: 35M in the US
People with heart disease: 30M
People with cancer or suppressed immune systems: 2M
People over 55: 15.2M

And countless other issues like asthma & lung diseases, speciality illnesses. Probably near 85M.

If they got COVID, they might not all die. Some might become long haulers. Others might emerge healthy.

But these categories all have increased risk of dying of COVID. If you are not in any of these categories, perhaps you do not need a vaccine. But if someone has any risk factors, then they should consider getting the vaccine,

For example, children have a very low risk of getting & dying of COVID. Apparently, there are only 17 children age 0-19 who have died of COVID in Canada in 2 yrars. People older than 60 have had 64,000 deaths. So people over 60 have a 9143x higher chance of getting COVID than a child.

Children have a much less chance of catching & dying of COVID. Yet, why they have brought in these kids vaxes!! And that is wrong!! That's .02% chance of dying from COVID, whereas anyone 60 & older has a 9143x great chance of getting COVID.

You simply cannot make a generalized statement that 98.5% of people recover, when many more young people will recover, and many less old people will not recover.

It's not about you, or me. It's about a faulty methodology to make people be complacent & think they are invincible, when many are in dire danger. You are throwing a number that might be true in some cases, but not in most others.

98.5% of recovery is an unscientific way of stating a greatly homogenized fact, which applies to neither older nor younger people, regarding how many people recovered. It has no worth as a statistic, or being accurate, but instead has been manufactured to disarm how deadly COVID can be!

My risk is over 10,000 times more than a healthy person, 18-29. I will take the vax and prolong my life a bit longer!!

There sure has been, in places like Indonesia and India and other countries that have less advanced healthcare. Indonesia has been creating new graveyards for victims. The problem is cruelly self correcting. Eventually, the spread of the virus is less because it kills a percentage and the rest have natural immunity.

If 100% of people are vaccinated then 100% of COVID victims will be vaccinated. Vaccinated people have milder symptoms and are much less likely to end up in hospital. Ask Boris, he knows all about it.

I'd rather have a slight sniffle and a bit of a temperature than spend weeks in ICU. So I'm double vaccinated. It is my choice. I don't believe that it should be mandatory, but neither do I believe that anti vaxxers have the right to spread fake news and straight out lies.
