1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that
in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Loosing faith will cause a departure from the faith and the timeframe of the parable of the ten virgins is placed in the latter or end times near the second coming.
1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
1Ti 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up
in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
Remain in the nourishment of words of faith and good doctrine and you are of the wise virgins. Lose faith and accept bad doctrine and you will become a foolish virgin.
I think I can tie
a loss of faith to losing
both forgiveness and Holy Spirit so somewhat being able to relate those things to the oil but not specifically as being the oil:
Lose your faith and you will lose God's forgiveness.
Act 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness
to light, and from the power of Satan unto God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
The foolish virgins started in light, but found themselves in darkness. Only in the light is there forgiveness so losing faith will lead one to darkness where there is no forgiveness.
Lose your faith and you will lose the Holy Spirit.
1Th_4:8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also
given unto us his holy Spirit.
Psa_51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and
take not thy holy spirit from me.
The Holy Spirit can be given and can be taken away.
1Th 3:10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
Some people have a lack of faith and if that condition gets worse then that partial faith can disappear and be likened to oil that ran out, burned up, leaving nothing left.
