Laura, I just tell it like it IS!
They say Jesus DIED, and then they double-talk by saying he remained LIVING as and 'immortal' soul, taking the thief to heaven, and then preaching to them in 'Hell', then floating back into the corpse 3 days later!
Don't you SEE that?

Jesus told his disciples he was surrendering his very LIFE- church-goers say tat is was only the body!
I know that some denominations have misunderstood and unfortunately taught these verses wrongly. However you said "or he pretended' and I don't see you corrected/making that clear here.

1) He did not ascend to heaven until 40 days after his resurrection. Therefore the thief could not be with him in paradise. Furthermore scripture says no one has ascended to heaven, but Christ. Secondly, know one will be in the heavenly kingdom UNTIL Christ's second coming and the subsequent judgment--it is impossible for anyone to currently be in heaven--otherwise what would be the point of Christ's coming? Also it says they 'RISE'-it does not say the come down.

To explain the "Today you will be with me in paradise": The bible says there is a day called 'Today' and 'Today' if you hear His voice. On the day a person is saved we are 'spiritually' with Christ--and we will be bodily with him at the resurrection (with new spiritual bodies). It will be TODAY--it will be in the 'twinkling of an eye'--there is NO SENSE OF TIME--there is no time when you are dead!
2) Preaching to those in prison is referencing Jesus/Holy Spirit preaching THRU Noah--those imprisoned were imprisoned by the flood of water since the whole world was flooded. They were called spirits as it is thru our spirit that we are able to understand God--"Deep calls to deep."

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:18-20)

Do you see that? The NAME. Not the 'names'.

"Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son."--1st John 2:22

Note it says they deny both the Father and the Son--how do they do this? God said He is ONE. If you do not believe this then you are denying CHRIST--the centrality of the gospel is that Jesus was God who came as a man and died for the sins of the world.

(this is why we should never refer again to Jesus simply as Jesus with exception of his walk as a man on the earth--He is always now ruling and reigning at the right hand of the Father and is: Lord/Jesus Christ/Christ/ Lord Jesus Christ--never simply Jesus-- because that is the name of a man--leaving off Lord or Christ is like calling Queen Elizabeth by her given name, Elizabeth)

"The deity of Christ is the key doctrine of the scriptures. Reject it, and the Bible becomes a jumble of words without any unifying theme. Accept it, and the Bible becomes an intelligible and ordered revelation of God in the person of Jesus Christ.” J. Oswald Sanders
JW's are always seeking to separate the Father from the Son and they disregard the Holy Spirit as just a fog/spirit/mist.

Not true. In those days there were those denying Jesus was the Messiah. All the rest was added by your church.

Jesus means "Jehovah is Salvation" and is ruling in God's place, as a reward for carrying out his Father's will.

Untrue to the extreme. I guess you ignored those words of Christ....

Yes, we see the Holy Spirit--as it says "made alive by the Spirit, by whom He went to preach to the spirits in prison (that is the flood). So Christ via the Holy Spirit preached THRU Noah". He warned them of the judgment coming on the earth and they didn't believe him. In the manner we have been warned of the final judgment coming on the earth--not with water , but with fire.

There are many stories of the pre-incarnate Christ in the Old Testament and also of the Holy Spirit who was given to certain people in the old testament.

Here we see the Holy Spirit at the beginning of Creation:

"And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."

Some Bible readers assume that the Spirit’s activity in Scripture is limited to the New Testament. But actually He is just as active in the Old Testament.

No clearer statement of the intimate interworking of the triune God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and especially of the Spirit’s powerful role can be found in the Old Testament than in Isaiah’s prophecy of the Servant of the Lord (Is. 42:1–9). The passage summarizes the redeeming work of all three Persons of the Trinity in the salvation of the lost. Thus it ties together in remarkable harmony both the Old Testament and New Testament understandings of God’s grace. It also sheds light on our understanding of the Holy Spirit.

1. The Spirit participated in creation (Gen. 1:2; Job 26:13; Is. 32:15).

2. The Spirit gives life to humanity and the other creatures (Ps. 104:29, 30). It is interesting that when Genesis says God endows people with life by breathing into their nostrils the “breath of life” (Gen. 2:7), the word for “breath” is the same word translated elsewhere as “spirit.”

3. The Spirit strives with sinners (Gen. 6:3), which is perhaps related to His work in convicting people of sin (John 16:8–11).

4. The Spirit came upon certain judges, warriors, and prophets in a way that gave them extraordinary power: for example, Joshua (Num. 27:18), Othniel (Judg. 3:10), Gideon (6:34), Samson (13:25; 14:6), and Saul (1 Sam. 10:9, 10). However, the Spirit later departed from Saul because of his disobedience (16:14).

5. The Spirit played a prominent role in the long span of Old Testament prophecy. David declared that “the Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue” (2 Sam. 23:2). Likewise, Ezekiel reported that “the Spirit entered me when He spoke to me” (Ezek. 2:2).

6. The Spirit inspired holiness in Old Testament believers (Ps. 143:10). And Scripture promised that someday God would put His Spirit in His people in a way that would cause them to live according to His statutes (Ezek. 36:27).

7. The Spirit was crucial in helping God’s people anticipate the ministry of the Messiah. For example, Isaiah 11:1–5 is a trinitarian preview of the working of the Father, the Spirit, and the Son, who is the Branch of Jesse. Looking forward to the ministry of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit inspired Isaiah to prophesy: “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him” (Is. 11:2), inspiring God’s Chosen One with wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, fear of the Lord, righteousness, and faithfulness. Thus we come full cycle to the New Testament, where Jesus claimed to be the fulfillment of this prophecy (Is. 61:1, 2; Luke 4:18, 19).

Better than a GHOST! 1/3 God. Without a Name.

Job 27:3- All the while my breath is in me, and the Spirit of God is in my nostrils...

Was the imaginary Almighty Ghost-God in Job's NOSTRILS????
Or was the pure (holy) power (spirit) of God keeping him alive & breathing?

The LORD Himself went to preach to the spirits in prison for the LORD HIMSELF is SPIRIT.

Now there was a rich man dressed in purple and fine linen, who lived each day in joyous splendor. And a beggar named Lazarus lay at his gate, covered with sores and longing to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

One day the beggar died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. And the rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham from afar, with Lazarus by his side.

So he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. For I am in agony in this fire.’

But Abraham answered, ‘Child, remember that during your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things. But now he is comforted here, while you are in agony. And besides all this, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that even those who wish cannot cross from here to you, nor can anyone cross from there to us.’

‘Then I beg you, father,’ he said, ‘send Lazarus to my father’s house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also end up in this place of torment.’

But Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let your brothers listen to them.’

‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone is sent to them from the dead, they will repent.’

Then Abraham said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

You need to embrace the Scriptural Truth that when a person dies their spirit/soul lives on in either Hades or Heaven.

Have you read Revelation? There you will find the LORD and the spirits of the Saints who have died in Christ.

God-ghost? What an odd thing to say--the Holy Spirit is God. The bible says it and I believe it.

Yes in those days and all the days that followed on into the present their are people who have denied Christ--and so are you--you seem to try to force on God human like characteristics--your inability to grasp the Holy Spirit being a person--though scripture states that He is, is perplexing.

"Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power."--1st Corinthians 15:24

Not according to him!

Gen 1:26
"Let us make man in our own image and likeness".

'Us' and 'our' are plural terms.

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The 'Word' is Jesus. It states the Word (Jesus) was with God and that He was in fact, God.

John 14:25-26
“I have told you this while I’m still with you. However, the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything. He will remind you of everything that I have ever told you

In this verse Jesus states that the Father is going to send the Holy Spirit in his (Jesus) name. These verses alone make it quite clear that Jesus is God, The Holy Spirit is God, and the Father is God. Three separate entities comprising one God.

Do you believe that Jesus is God? If not, than what exactly is he that makes him worthy of being worshipped?
