About the book of Job

There are many things to meditate about on this story. It's one that should make us examine ourselves our motives, our devotion, our weaknesses. And give thanks for God's mercy and faithfulness to us.

I appreciate all that you wrote . . . Truly.

As I have read Job, I struggle to see how he did [not] sin. I feel that if I said the things that Job said about (and to) the Lord, I'd be shaking in my proverbial boots. In fact, I am bothered by many of the things that Job said . . . they really rub me wrong.

Have you ever felt that way about Job?

What mystifies me about Job is how, though he was a believer, Satan was allowed to torment him. But Colossians 2:15 states that in Christ, the Devil is essentially defeated.

Colossians 2:15 NKJV - "Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it."

I have produced a lot of teaching that Satan cannot harm True Children of the Lord, but then we have the story of Job. I hate being wrong . . . but it seems that I might be.

What are your thoughts on this?

Satan killed every disciple except john and judas.

Bit Jesus said " not a hair on your heads shall be harmed"

That is one of many mysteries.

No doubt, our deaths are an interesting concept to ponder. I take the below stance:

Psalm 116:15 KJV - "Precious in the sight of the LORD [is] the death of his saints."

In my opinion, humans have an improper view of death, even the deaths that God took responsibility for. And in that Light, I wonder if ultimately it was the Lord who generated those deaths that you referenced.

Did not the Lord harden hearts so that Christ would be murdered?

Yes. But I'm bummed. I'm not fond of the idea of being available to Satan. That brings me no comfort at all.

AND, it means that so much of my writings (and videos) are in error. Whew . . . discouraging. I'm questing whether or not I should write anything at all anymore. It is unacceptable for me to be wrong about the Lord's Truth.

The book of Job is a picture of the great tribulation for the Jews. Job's 42 chapters mimics the 42 months of tribulation (3 1/2 years). In the end, those who endure without turning on God will receive a great reward in the Millennium reign of Christ.

The thing is this: I really do feel that Satan's influence has been defeated by Christ. For, this is the point of Colossians 2:9-15, that through the Circumcision of Christ and the dept paid for sin, we are "free" in Christ. So . . . what this means to me is that God has placed a hedge around me just as God placed a hedge around both Job and Satan. Job was protected (in his life) by that hedge and Satan was restricted with his hedge.

Therefore, as I suffer the most incredible last five years of my 54-year life, I don't feel that it is Satan that is attacking me, but I feel that it is deceived people who are attacking me. I also take this as the Lord's Discipline rather than Satan coming after me. These last five years have been of Biblical proportions, and in my shocking pain and suffering, the Lord has taught and continues to teach me to become more like Him . . . to learn to Endure with a positive attitude, rather than an attitude of complaining and anger.

I am so thankful for my struggles and hardships, for, without them, I would not know our Powerful, Almighty God as I do. In fact, these struggles over the last five years are so shocking, they prove the utter Power of God, for these things could not happen if He were not in total, Supreme Control. Hence, I have determined that the single most important thing that we are to know about the Bible is the Power of God. Without this Wisdom, and in my view, the Truth of the Bible will remain elusive (though we may not know that).

I wouldn't trade these horrors of my life for anything. I am so thankful. I hope that what I said is gentle to you and that it might make sense.

One thing to remember...Job was third party to a " bet" between God and satan.

I read and reread Job.

Check this out ( and i have never heard this preached), Joe never knew it was Satan doing all that mischief to him and as far as I can tell ,correct me if I'm wrong, God never told him it was Satan. Now fast-forward to the New Testament .
the dynamic is reversed in the New Testament .
Satan is already defeated and he is exposed.
with Job he was not exposed ...and watch this ....Jesus gave us authority over him even though he's defeated.
we have authority over that defeated foe .
you look at the armor of God, the Shield of Faith to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy that means if you're in faith ,Satan cannot get to you .
when you see the darts you can see that he is trying to attack you.

we are the family of God and we have an enemy .
it was different with Job because Job is not a new testament dynamic. Jobe in my opinion represents the destruction of the flesh .
and another thing job represents is the tenacity ,determination, and the single-mindedness of the True Believer.

Good! I am glad that my experiences bring you smiles, for this is the full intention of the Lord. His ways are not our ways, meaning that we see His ways as backward. Such as, the death of His Saints is beautiful. That's quite a concept, considering that the vast majority of Christians fear their deaths, including myself. That said, I am learning to anticipate my death, even submitting my physical flesh to whatever form of death he has chosen. I know that regardless of how I die, it will be worth it. I've had a foot within the Door of Heaven and I can attest that how we die is absolutely irrelevant. That said, I sure hope that I do not endure the kind of torture that some of our prisoners of war have endured. My former uncle . . . 7 years in Vietnam. It is inconceivable what that man lived through.

But, I'm not sure that I view the Devil as my enemy. Instead, I view the Devil as a bolt of lightning that fell from the sky because of the Circumcision of Christ. I never, never think about the Devil and his possible impact on my life. I have no fear of Satan, but instead, I have True Fear of the Lord.

Luke 10:17-18 KJV - "And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven."

There were no chapter & verse divisions when Job was written. Chapters weren't introduced until the 14th century.
So this idea can't have originated until more than 2 thousand years after Job was penned.

No I believe job spoke from honesty from the heart from what he had seen and was going through.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God.

This is how the Lord saw him . So God had no issues with job.
The story of job is how our faith should be . Our faith should be upon a rock foundation.
Our belief must turn into faith.
The Lord never said he would keep you life free from hardships, tragedies, disparity but he did promise to see us through. Sometimes providing a means of escape.

The book of job reflects the life of Jesus himself.
Look at all jesus went through not only at the cross but also throughout his life.
Now tell me who was more faithful than Christ himself?
Yet ...rejection, betral, 40 days in the wilderness, death threats, his own mother sought to put him away.
Contempt, disowned, and now he faced the cross that his own father was pleased to break him. Not only that but separate himself from him.
But as in the case of job so to that all will be restored even better when our Lord our savior returns.

For the glory that was set before him he endure the cross.
Jesus said "pick up your cross and follow me."......
As jesus told John the Baptist....Suffer theses things to be so now.

" In this world you will suffer many tribulations but be of good cheer I have over come this world".

Job thought it would have been better if he would not have been born.
