The condition for the promise, in Acts 2:38-39, is repentance and baptism in Jesus' Name for the remission of sins.
The promise is remission of sins and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.
Nope
The condition for the gift of the spirit is to repent all of these are in second person plural form. Even in the old king james which you claim you li=stern to says repent YE (the plural form of the word you)
Then he tells people to be baptised sis the remmision of sin.
These are third person singular forms (even the KJV version you idolize uses the singular ‘YOU” as apposed to the plural “YE”
So then we have to look at the word Eli’s (for the remmision of sin)
is can be used multiple ways.
For the remission f sin. Meaning in order to recieve
For remmision of sin, or on account of already recieved remission of sin
are just two examples
Now we turn to the rest of the word. And find remission of sin is granted once one is forgiven sin, This happens when one is justified. Scripture says we are justified by faith, not by baptism.
so the first form of the word is (in order to recieve) must be rejected. Because it is found no where else in the word that justification or redemption of sins is based on water baptism.
