Ecclesiastes 11:5
As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.

is this the spirit that gives life to babies when they are formed in the womb?
Then the same spirit is the same that God breathed into the nostrils of Adam.
Is this the soul or the spirit and the soul are different?
Is it the spirit or the soul that will stand before judgment?
Thank You for your effort to make this clear to me and God bless you

Good morning, Timothy :) Well, it is morning here, at any rate ;)

Spirit and soul do seem to be used interchangeably in Scripture.

Man became a ling soul when God breathed the breath of life into Adam.

Some believe this this distinguishes man from all of God’s other
creatures, but the same breath of life animates their flesh as well.

Some also believe that the soul of man is immortal, even
though Scripture plainly states that God alone is immortal.

God also holds all things together. Sustains everything.

When a baby becomes a living soul seems to be one of your questions.

An embryo and/or fetus is by no doubt alive, but it is the mother
who oxygenates the blood of her child while it is in her womb.

Some use this reasoning to suggest the baby is not yet a soul,
simply because the child is not yet breathing on their own.

The resurrected person is who stands before God for judgment. Would
that not that include body, soul, and spirit? Some are resurrected to
everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

The difference being whether or not they are found in Christ, Who
shed His righteous blood to fulfill hundreds of prophesies concerning
Him, and give His life as a ransom for many for the forgiveness of sins,
that we may be reconciled to God and attain to life ever after.

You may find this post helpful, even if non-definitive:

The Bible seems to make a distinction between soul and spirit, tho it calls animals
souls throughout Genesis and says in other places like Ecclesiastes 3 they have spirits.

It is a difficult question to ask, what is the difference between a soul and a spirit? But the scripture in some
places seems to compare the soul, the mind, and the heart together, and talks of the spirit differently.

The spirit of man is the same spirit God gave to Adam when he breathed into him, yes. The spirit of man will remain dormant if he is not redeemed. This spirit, the one from God, is incorruptible. Upon death, man's spirit (from God) will return to God who gave it. This is true for everyone. Because He is spirit, God can be in all men at once. The Spirit of God cannot be divided, He is One, so the same spirit can be in all men but also not be divided.

The soul is created to bridge the divide between the natural and the spiritual. A soul is used for interaction with the creation. Upon death, the soul of the unredeemed man will be destroyed but the soul of the redeemed man will be with God forever within a new body that cannot die.

Adam and Eve did not think they were naked because they were spirits in clothes of flesh: their bodies were their clothing. They knew they were spirit because they knew their Father and He was spirit. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden the eyes of the souls were opened and they began to lust and desire things that appealed to their flesh. They lost their identity as spiritual beings, like their Father, and saw themselves as fleshly beings, from the dust. Also, instead of receiving direction directly from God to their spirits, they decided for themselves what would benefit them. Because they saw themselves as simply part of creation (and not eternal like their Father) they made decisions, from their souls, based upon their own survival and they defined good and evil according to how the dichotomies impacted them bodily.

Being born-again by the spirit, then, is about reversing the control of the soul over the spirit and returning man to the proper spiritual order whereby he is led by the Spirit of God: directly from God's Spirit to man's spirit. By accepting this truth, made possible by the grace of God through Jesus Christ, man can identify with his Father because he knows his innermost being is the Spirit of God, not his soul. By this, sharing the nature of God, man becomes a son of God and part of God's original intent for man to be the heirs of His Kingdom.

Blessings,
Aaron

From my understanding, and I doubt anyone can abuse me of it, the spirit of a man (or women for you devout feminists) is one third of a soul as explained by scriptures.... although most miss it due to anthropological issues.

Happy, joyful spirit, miserable spirit, spirit of drunkenness....these things describe "spirits". Indeed I could really go far with all of this and the exorcism lesson Jesus gave but since it will cause controversy I'll save it for a later date.

Then comes the mind....another 1/3 of a man. We use logic and reason together to form what is known as wisdom....but which facts we use to determine how and when we deduce things is usually determined by our spirit....(see how they play in together?) A person can rush to judgement because they are prone to anger or hatred of people... again because of their natural spirit of inclinations.

Then we have a third portion known as the body.... you aren't a soul unless you have a body. Not one of these earthly bodies although they count towards being a soul...but a heavenly body lasts forever.

Again this also plays into a person's heart....which is where emotions and logic come together to cause will or action.

Again subtle but important differences and distinctions but in the ANE and ancient Rome it is how they explained things and used these terms to describe the situation.

"The soul who sins will die"
A living animal has a nepesh or soul.
"But the soul who believes in me shall never perish."

A living soul is what a person is , they are a living spirit from God inside a body created by him. Those two elements make a living soul

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground,

and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;

and man became a living soul.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

you are a living soul , a living spirit in a body .

because of sin our flesh is condemned to death

“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:50‬ ‭

because we enter Gods kingdom after we die , our flesh cannot partake of it it happens when we part the flesh

“Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:6, 8-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

at death the spirit parts from the body and returns to the father of spirits to be judged for eternal life

“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:

and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭12:7‬ ‭

just as the body was made and spirit was breathed into it , and man became a living soul , at death the body reverts to decay and matter into the dust it was created from , but the spirit lives and goes to God where it came from.

a soul is what is born when a person is born they are a living spirit in a temporal body. When tbier body dies the soul appears before God

Scripture tells us what we need to know, or what we can understand and many things are beyond the fleshly mind to comprehend. We see darkly. All man saying what they believe is beside the point--our beliefs has nothing to do with the facts.

I have been aware of angels at work twice in my life, once during a birth and once during a death. Both times the angels let me know I was out of line to be aware of them, and both times they were there because of helping the soul. Both times there were two of them. Once to help my Dad leave, and once to help my daughter arrive.

The spirit, and soul are separate.

The Bible says all spirits go back to God who gave them so it does not matter how they behaved on earth.

The soul will live on forever and it is the soul that stands before God at judgment day.

correct - the soul is Personhood = the individual person = personality will emotions = all that makes you unique = individaul

the spirit is made in the image of God

the body to house the soul and spirit

Take notice that the soul of a man can be bought and sold by satan but not a man's spirit.

And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, because there is no one left to buy their cargo— 12cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, and pearls; of fine linen, purple, silk, and scarlet; of all kinds of citron wood and every article of ivory, precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; of cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, and frankincense; of wine, olive oil, fine flour, and wheat; of cattle, sheep, horses, and chariots; of slaves and souls of men. Rev 18

For what shall a man give in exchange for his soul
