KJV translators weren't KJV only!

There is nothing wrong with the kjv's rendering of that verse.

You are going to have to do better than that, therefore, if you are going to substantiate your claim that "the kjv is corrupt".
You didnt answer the question... who has the verse right, and why?

The Masorites changed the OT text.... thats why it rarely matches up with the NT quotes.

No, actually, the penners of the NT quoted from the Septuagint....so the Masoretic text, which is based on the Hebrew, is different from its translation into Greek; and therefore what is quoted from the Greek is different than the original Hebrew.

Both the Septuagint and Masoretic text originate from Hebrew. The Septuagint was translated from a different Hebrew source over 1000 years before the Masoretic text was "copied". The original Hebrew was a dead language and revived. However you want to spin it... if you believe in the NT, the quotes in it are not going to match up with Masoretic text translations. The Masorites severely edited the text.
