Just before He ascended to heaven, Jesus instructed His followers to spread the gospel. I'm not sure exactly what that looks like in the 21st century. I know we are supposed to witness to our family and friends, but what about complete strangers? When I was growing up, the church I attended had a weekly soul winning night where people from the church went door to door visiting people. I do not think it is done this way anymore, especially during covid. Another thing I have heard of is passing out tracts or else leaving them behind anonymously.

As far as I know, the church I attend now does not have a program where they just go out and tell random people about Jesus. Currently, I am involved with Crossroads prison ministry which distributes Bible study courses to inmates. Every week I receive a completed lesson from an inmate which I review and then I also write them a letter in which I share the gospel. It seems like I should be doing more, because I know every day people are entering eternity without knowing Jesus. I know it is God who does the saving, but as a believer, I know it is my duty to help get the word out. Like the Apostle Paul said, how will they believe in Whom they have not heard and how shall they hear unless someone tells them?

I would be really interested in hearing what others on here do to try and share the good news or if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks and God bless!

I'm not exactly a fan of proselytizing drives...a lot of bad stuff happens with them.

But I am all about building relationships that creates converts.
Everyone who knows me and knows about me knows exactly who and what I am. I ain't shy but I don't have to preach at anyone...they already know that I am a Christian.

And when fecal material comes into forceful contact with the circular air handling device they come to me for answers.

And as a construction worker...it's a little odd seeing a usually grumpy, angry, tough guy reduced to tears and crying like a school girl... while I console him and give him what he needs to hear. Sometimes it takes years to get a conversion...but I don't change, I don't relent, I don't recant and am consistent with my behaviors and attitudes.
And I tell them the unvarnished truth... WHEN they ask.

Like the guy who always had some sort of porn going on his cell phone...when his daughter became every guy's favorite date and it was way out of hand he needed a bit of advice.

Real change usually takes years for most people...a slight shifting of the rudder if you will. And absolute courage of your convictions to where you actually live them every day instead of just on Sunday and that means going beyond mere words...that is what is needed to successfully witness to people.

I think prison ministry like what you're doing is fantastic.

Personally, I pray each day that I can have more of the character of Christ. If we're becoming the person He wants us to be then He can work through us.
