I think the two men one is a woman = Eve...Well if it is a metaphor they act like its Christmas whens those two are dead,,,,,,,When the bible is dead?

and yes we’re all free to see it as we do you could be right it’s just not how I see it but that’s perfectly ok you know ? We’re not all going to see the same things so we discuss and consider

I don't believe it is two literal people. I think is speaks to the royal priesthood, priest and king. I'll have to come back to add my thoughts later.

imho - Would that not be torture to keep John on this earth until the Coming of Christ with the Saints - those Saints who are with Him now in Eternal SPLENDOR that we can just barely comprehend.
No, I don't believe that John would consider it torture but rather the wait would be a necessary component of a most important mission. I guess that I have a military mindset - Mission First, Last, Always.

2000 years and counting - unless God gave me a New Glorified Body - it would be torture to me and most people.

Any evidence or faithful witnesses of the Apostle John showing up anywhere in world history - anywhere???

i mean, for 2000 years he has to pop up somewhere - what else could he be doing - hiding in a cave???

those are just my simple mind thoughts - love you and appreciate you - amen

PS - there is a Scripture that God said, before the Law, that this would not be possible for John.

So I think that most likely the two witnesses will be Elijah and Moses.
Agreed. While Moses is not specifically mentioned in Malachi, Elijah certainly is. And since it was Moses and Elijah who had the privilege of meeting Christ at His transfiguration, it follows that they would also preach the Gospel during the Tribulation and be killed for their testimony.

“And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof. So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my Lord?

And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my Lord. Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.”

The Two Witnesses are the same as before in scripture. One the best examples is Moses and Aaron.A lot of people use Exodus as a precursor but neglect to see the signs.
They are the word of God(Bible/NT/OT)(The Two Witnesses!) and the 144,000.Who will be killed for the testimony of Jesus and raised up on the third day.

Moses is limited to the children of Israel - Enoch dealt with angels, who are superior to us, and he walked with God.
me thinks Enoch has a the edge over the Guy with the Big Stick that splits water but not death.
Always having fun with you brother - peace and blessing

You can walk with God also.Through prayer and reading of his word, daily and often. That's what walking with God is.Also walking in the spirit.

GOD's blessing my brethren, the interaction on this topic has been awesome.,and there are many interesting points....... can I ask you all to apply everything ...but this time to.......the old and new testament....let's see what comes from it.
look forward to the correspondence...

Who do you think the two witnesses will be? I’ll begin. ;)

First lets go to Matthew 17, to the mount of transfiguration:

Matthew 17:1-3

1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

3 And, behold, there appeared unto them MOSES and ELIAS (Elijah) talking with him.

MOSES = Law giver, Representing the Law.
ELIAS (Elijah) = The Prophets.

Revelation 11:3-5

3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks STANDING BEFORE THE GOD of the earth.

5 And if any man will hurt them, FIRE PROCEEDETH OUT OF THEIR MOUTH, AND DEVOURETH THEIR ENEMIES: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

2 Kings 1:10-12

10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, “If I be a man of God, then LET FIRE COME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, and consume thee and thy fifty.” And there CAME DOWN FIRE FROM HEAVEN, and consumed him and his fifty.

11 Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, "O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly."

12 And Elijah answered and said unto them, "If I be a man of God, LET FIRE COME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, and consume thee and thy fifty." And the FIRE OF GOD CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, and consumed him and his fifty.

So we see that Elijah had the same powers as the two witnesses.

Revelation 11:6-9

6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: (the sign of Elijah)and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. (the powers that Moses used in Egypt)

7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

Psalms 79:2-3

2 The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.

3 Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.

Revelation 11:11

11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

Now we’ll go to Zechariah 4:11-14

Zechariah 4:11-14

11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?

12 And I answered again, and said unto him, "What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?"

13 And he answered me and said, "Knowest thou not what these be?" And I said, "No, my lord."

14 Then said he, "These are the TWO ANOINTED ONES, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth."

So I think that most likely the two witnesses will be Elijah and Moses. :) What say you?

I did a bit of a blog on this, you can find it Here

Two is Company but Three is Better then Two -
A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

What about the Third Witness? How come we are not mentioning Him?

In the Bible it states Rev: 11.3...."And I will empower my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1260 days, clothes in sackcloth"
The 1260 days mentioned here began in 538 and ended 1798, commonly known as the dark ages.
It also helps shed some light on who the anti- Christ is and the wound inflicted on it.......happy seeking brother's and sister's.

Elijah yes, Moses? their is a case to be made for him, but what about Enoch? Elijah and Enoch are the only two people that have not died in the flesh so it could be them. The best thing to know is that Jesus will not return untill 31/2 days after the dead bodies lie in the street. We might not know the excact moment but Jesus has told us we will know the sings of the time. I look toward Jeruslem watching for the sings and time of the end.

I think we dwell too much on "who" they are. Their actions may be the more important factor.
Their character and the prophetic type the vision is drawing from.

I do find the following intriguing though.

Mark 3:17
James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means ‘sons of thunder’),

Luke 9:54
When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, ‘Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?’
55 But Jesus turned and rebuked them. 56 Then he and his disciples went to another village.
