No. They deny the Father and the Son. They are tricky to deal with, as they use Christian terminology, but use it to mean things it doesn't. The basic examples are Jesus and God. They believe in a false Jesus, and a false god, but not The Jesus, and The God. They believe that their Jesus died to pay the penalty for sin, but only so people could rise to go to Heaven or Hell. They believe in Hell, but call it the "Outer darkness". "Hell" means something different to them. Are they Christian?
No , they are not...
They believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers , and that they are gods themselves...
They have loads and loads of weird beliefs...
...xox...

One of their scriptures reads we have the truth and the word of god. Also in one of there books it has god telling Abraham to lie.for a time in their books it has a black race listed as really ugly and cursed.but smith does say that south better change so as not to be cursed.,,one of their famous creeds is we believe the bible to be true when correctly translated.I disagree. After seeing the differences in the Denominations I've been exposed to, the radical differences in the Eastern Orthodox, in Catholicism... It all seems relatively minor in terms of the Mormons. There are things about their doctrine that I do not accept, but I don't argue with them about them. If we can have a civil exchange about them, I will. If I am attacked, it won't work well.

Genesis 12:17 it is only in the Mormon book where god tells Abraham to lie.Yes, I was reading, (in the Book of Mormon) where one of the tribes got a curse that turned their skin black. I thought that it was in my notes but I can not find it. Such a thing is not acceptable to me. Looking, it seems that they have had a long struggle with racism. Some sources call it the Mark of Cain.
What you mention are sore points with me. As to the lie, it is in Genesis 12:17 and though I have not read it carefully, it looks like it happens more than once. That is in the KJV and not a Mormon peculiarity.
Frankly, I am not a member and attend for Communion and the Music. I hate to mention this but I used to attend an ELCA Lutheran Church and was disappointed to find that every word in church is already printed in the Program. I tried a 1st Church of Christ, and won't talk about it. To me the Baptists were to bizarre. I've been to a Catholic church. I attended an AG Church in Honduras. It is why I try to bridge the gap with personal reading and study. My mother used to attend a church in Oklahoma that had a lay pastorate. She once told me that her father would come home drunk on Friday night, beat his wife and children, lay around hung over on Saturday, and preach fire and brimstone on Sunday. Sad, so sad.

I stand corrected he did not tell him to lie, but to be deceitful Abraham 2:24Looking at my (non-Mormon) KJV, it is the story of Abraham and Sarah encountering Pharaoh. God did not tell him to lie. It appears to have been weakness in his own character that he lied to Pharaoh. All through the OT, humans were not admirable people.
Katia Maybe this was the passage you where looking for 2 Nephi 5:21.That's the one where he turned the lamanites black an ugly
Because we steal resources such as oil and that maybe why we don't pay our trade debt and we also bully nation that cling to other systems of government. We also control nations by debt But the Mormons had one thing right. The truth is there are only two nations, one of god an one of the devil.,,You see men not in control of government the devil is.Not being a "born" Mormon, for me the authority is the Bible. I am slowly learning not to mention in Sunday School where the BOM conflicts with the Bible. I am not sure how long I will last there.
I was saved in my late 20's in 1974 and was deeply involved in the church, going to Honduras twice and then Kenya and Israel. The reaction of people after 9/11 was disillusioning because I felt that 21 men did it, and many people I knew blamed the whole of the Arab people. In trying to figure out why they would attack us, I ended up becoming Muslim for nearly a decade. Later I became Mormon but that lasted only around 5 years. I do not know what will happen next.
