Most guys that care enough about their looks to be noticed are probly Gay!
That is simply not true.

Many guys care about their looks because they want to impress women or just feel good about themselves.

If they don't care about their appearance at all and don't take care of themselves, hygiene, wearing clean appropriate clothing, then they are probably depressed or something.

Do you really think that most guys who lift weights and work out are gay?

You can tell most of the time when a guy is gay....and that definitely isn't because he cares about his looks.

As a young man I lifted weights to compensate for the bullying I had and because I felt my face was ugly.
I did care how I looked, but it didn't mean that I was gay.

I hadn't read your post before posting, but seems what I said is all true...lol

Well, at 64... Idk...but you'll probably have a better chance with the women.... than a 64-year-old woman does with the men.

SAD but TRUE...

Not always...

I have to say here that I have only found a connection with one woman younger than me all others have been older.
A woman's beauty is not about the age. It's about the connection care and humour between two people.
I think 15 years gap does no harm so long as the man can match the maturity of an older woman

Yes, I probably shouldn't have said that...it may have been disrespectful to older women. I wasn't trying to disrespect anyone. Just seems that is how it goes.

Anyways, I may need to look you up in a few decades...

:pjk...lol

I'm pretty sure, I will be ready to hang it up at 64.

That's not the case for all women, though. I'm sure some women remain vibrant and energetic in their sixties.

I don't think I will be 1 of them, though.

I think depending on family circumstances....people still want to have have a companionship, conversation and to be able to share their cup of tea each afternoon.
The world is rushing and no one seems to want to sit, hold hands and talk anymore

I'm sure I have gotten this thread completely off-topic.

But yeah, I agree. My grandparents have been married for nearly 60 years and still hold hands and have date nights.

And most widows do get remarried or seek a new spouse. But after a certain age looks are probably not that important anymore.

To get this back on track...I don't know why anyone would say that because a guy knows when another guy is good-looking then he is probably gay. That is a pretty messed up and untrue thing to say.

As evil as the world is today, the enemy already has a strong foothold, and if people repeat statements like that to adolescent boys they might cause them to think they are gay or bisexual...just for being able to tell if someone of the same sex is good looking or not.

I know when other women are good-looking, but that sure doesn't mean that I want to date any woman (good-looking or not). lol

That's a good point.

On the other hand, us men who can't tell if other men are good-looking shouldn't be accused of just saying we can't tell just so other people don't think we are weird or gay or whatever. It didn't really occur to me that a lot of other men could tell if another man was good-looking until I was in my 40's. I heard occasional comments. I knew gays seem to have some opinions on the matter, but I didn't think about it a lot. Most men don't comment on other men's looks in the US, and it was kind of rare overseas.

Yes, and you didn't say that any guy that could tell if another guy was good-looking was gay, and yes, it is possible that some people can't tell if someone else of the same sex is good-looking or not.

However, one sad thing is that many people do compare and judge themselves according to what is viewed and characterized by society to be attractive in their own gender group.

I think this is why some men (not all I'm sure) say things like if a guy is focused on his appearance or can tell when another guy is good looking then he probably is gay. And the same goes for some women. They may say something like...she might be pretty but she is probably a wh*re or up to no good. Maybe it has to do with people comparing themselves to others and feeling inadequate.

I know, I have probably been guilty of judging other women too harshly in the past based solely on their appearance.

No I don't think that guys who work out and lift weights are gay. Vanity is vary suspicious than Body shaping. Being from the Long Beach Ca area, where crosswalks are painted in rain bows as an homage to gay pride I see faggoty looking men strolling Broadway and riding bikes in drag almost every time I ride the bus to the park to read in private. I think it's a lingusticical issue. Because what is good looking is in the eyes of the beholder. I never said a word about personal hygine. Being a former hippie/Jesus freak. I took a shower every day after work and a bath every week I washed my hair with Dawn people used to call us dirty because we mostly had long hair and beards. My former mother in law used to say that I looked like Santa Clause. I wasn't offended because he was a mythical hero. Another popular look around here are tattoo'd faces. Somebody must think it's good looking. Not me. But it's a matter of perspective. I like leather and denim because besides motorcycle safety I think it's more masculine than plucked eyebrows or $40 haircuts.

My opinion is my own and your's is your's too. There is no hard and fast deffinition for

One good test that I learnt too late sounded like a great idea... before you marry.... try do a Long Trail walk that takes seven days of endurance with them.
Obviously you have to have separate tents.
But the test would help u decide if the person is going to be a life partner. Not a hot affair

Yes. (to answer the OP's question)

I married an older woman: she's brilliant (teaches Physics) and smoking hot. I certainly married up. It's a love affair that's lasted for nearly 30 years. :)

Often its about sensing what's deeper, behind the womans words.
While keeping your own focus on your life too, that is a real valuable strength. Be firm and focused on personal aims u have. But try understand the womans unsaid feelings

Where I'm from most men look and act like men...so yeah, California or some big city would be quite different.

But still, I don't really think that anyone actually finds drags attractive... well hopefully no straight men or women find drag queens attractive. o_O lol

But I do get what you are saying people are attracted to different types.

Longbeards are really not my thing, I find a clean shave or a well-trimmed and managed goatee and mustache more attractive. But some women are attracted to long beards and hey it does seem to be the style nowadays...so some people must like it and find it attractive. I don't find tattooed faces attractive either but like you said some people do.

So yeah, when it comes to what someone finds attractive...to each their own, I guess. There are all kinds of different people and opinions in the world.
