Where is that in Scripture?
first mention principle...
Why go outside God's word for definitions? Some may be correct, some might be wrong. Stick with Scripture. I guess first, you have to believe you've got Scripture.

You are going outside of Scripture. The “first mention principle” is not in Scripture.first mention principle...

How do you reconcile these scriptures? Has the end come? Has the Lord returned? Why or why not?
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Colossians 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
I guess like Calvinists believe, world does not mean world, all does not mean all, every does not mean every....

Matthew 24:14 is talking about the end time which is the day of the Lord what would proceed it's manifestation. While colossians 1:5 is talking about the Holy Spirit and his work in the believer which is a daily process which is already ongoing this instance while the believer moves from glory to glory until a perfect day which is the day of the Lord. How do you reconcile these scriptures?
Do you mean the gospel goes out to all the cosmos? I would agree with that in the context of the use of the word 'cosmos'. and 'every' well it just means that 'every' its a good determiner (in English).
So I would say your guess is not a good guess?
Can you define cosmos for me? Thanks. That word is not in my Bible.

While colossians 1:5 is talking about the Holy Spirit and his work in the believer which is a daily process which is already ongoing this instance while the believer moves from glory to glory until a perfect day which is the day of the Lord.
Certainly john146, World.
Thanks! Did Paul's gospel go out into all the world? Preached to every creature under heaven? To all nations?
Did the gospel of, from and about Jesus Christ go out to all the world. It certainly did, by all those saved, starting with the apostles.
In this context world/cosmos would mean 'fallen humans', to all inhabitants of the cosmos/world.

That’s the most shameless dodge I’ve seen all week.Has the Lord returned? Has the end come? Explain yourself....reconcile the Scriptures...
Can we usher in the kingdom by preaching the gospel unto all the world? Is that what the Lord is waiting for?
That’s the most shameless dodge I’ve seen all week.
That’s not a definition. Here's the first mention of world:
1 Samuel 2:8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them.
This definition remains true throughout Scripture including John 3:16. It's not the world of the elect...
It was an observation, not an insult.See post #55. Please explain your position instead of insulting others. Thanks.
