Don't let the world fill you with this garbage. Yes, getting older can be tough but there is also a beauty here that you have to experience to understand. The beauty of being a bit wiser. The beauty of modeling this wisdom to your generations that they may take heart. The beauty of growing ever further from the world and ever closed to God and closer to those you love more than life. The beauty of not caring what the world says 'cause everything they say is a lie anyway.

I thank God every day for what he gives me, even the little aches and pains. Please, no more of this crazy stuff that death is better than older!

Yes, absolutely. I am a 24/7 caretaker for my sweetheart, I know the darkness and depression very well. I have spent many nights with a wet pillow. It's tough. But I hold on to the faith that God created us for a reason. I celebrate a lifetime of gifts he has showered on us. I just will not, at the end jerk, my life away from God and tell him his way is not as good as mine.

Staying young and strong before we entered Heaven would be even better ;)
Oh, don't know about the young and strong, there are many blessings when we learn to rely on Him for what we used to do ourselves. Maybe a few less aches would be nice, maybe a little more hair!

When you mention the pillow, I thought about the nights where I had to Flick mine over because it got wet with tears

I was a caregiver too for my late second wife too for the last few years of her life. It is a hard thing for sure. I have an understanding with darkness and depression too. Yes, tough.

Precaution: Don't make old people mad...

They don't like being old "in the first place"...

So...it doesn't take much "to tick them off!" 🤭

As an oler person, I do not mind being "called old," however it seems offish for any to go to that bother. Being old is very nice while belieing Jesus Yeshua. That faith makes one feel like a child always, but never childish.

Age is mind over matter...

If you don't mind...it doesn't matter! 😉

70 years is enough for me. I will climb up a mountain if life drags too long. There's no point in my rotting in a care home.

I am not in any care situation. I painted my house this year. Using had clippers, shears, I cut my jasmine hedge down fron nine geet to make it easy to trim without the ladder, just this week. I walk and carry my supplies home myself. The one shopping center is a mile away. I have been blessed to care for others younger than I.

I find your attitude about age voice in a forum with many seniors to be berging on impertainence. Of course this is only my impression At 77, I am very active and see no reason why I should dictate to our Father when I should be taken from this age. Please reconsider your self-imosed thinnking of a 70 year limitation to your walk. You may be wanted for aft that time period for our Father's works. God bless you.

Perhaps you are thinking in terms of going home. I do too. Always, it seems but while I am here I do try tomake the best of things. Each challenge or problem is just one step up to His throne. In my cas it has been WMD, osteoarthritis, and other age-related maladies, but so far I have been blessed to be thankful for each step. As a youth I woulld never have imagined having this attitude, but it is all founded on Jesus Yeshua.

He is good all of the time. (I know that is an understatement, but plain and straightforward.) God bless you always.
