Christ tells us to live with Christ within, our lifestyle is to reflect Christ. Christ speaks of food for the spirit as opposed to food that is simply eliminated. These posts are usually speaking against such ideas. Doesn't that tell you something? Posters want no posts that dares mention any missing the mark.
If there was a poll that listed the amount of time spent listening to the world speak to them ad listening or thinking about how the Lord speaks to them and they were honest how do you think it would report on our time. I know until three years ago, how most of my time was spent and it wasn't with the Lord.

It is hard to make friends of people of the church. I posted about what scripture tells us about living life as a Christ, and most of the responses were accusations against me, almost nothing about what scripture tells us about living for Christ. They pushed Christ aside and used me for target practice.

1Pe_5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

The devil or Satan will lie and scheme in what ever way he can to deceive us. Don't trust your senses. trust the word of God like Jesus did.

just wanted to add some scripture to support what you are saying which which I fully agree
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

when Christ was taken up Satan was cast out of heaven with his angels ( demons ) evil spiritual beings d then he began to war against Gods children . We see the effects all around us understanding that just as Gods spirit works through a man who has him in our hearts , evil spirits work through men who accept them into thier heart all men serve by spirit whether Gods spirit or the enemy spirits in the world being sourced here
“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

that’s going to continue until Christ returns and it’s why the world is in this state

it’s why the apostles taught those thkngs about a spiritual war and gearing up with Gods spiritual armor for the battle

I believe demons fallen angels who were corrupted by Satan are in this state awaiting the day of judgement
“And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.”
Matthew 8:29, 31 KJV
they know Christ is victorious and there is a day of judgement for them ahead , which many men deny , but until that day like men are allowed to continue so they are continuing on attempting to slay the souls of many who would be saved through corruption and influence
the many worldly influences you are speaking of technology that the world now worships and sends forth corrupt images and stories fables and myths perpetuates many false ideas and religions even many countries terrier Christian beliefs
I think of the internet and it is such a powerful influence in the world I see it as a conduit for many evil spirits to enter into men’s hearts and minds , though we understand it can be good or evil , it only seems to reflect the state of mankind thier spiritual state and like the world it mostly abides in wickedness and error

Your thread is helpful. I heard a preacher use an analogy once. Saying the flesh and the spirit could be compared to two pups. If you feed one and starve one then whichever one you choose to feed will become the strongest.
I've found that to be completely true. If I let myself get more into worldly things and slack up, on reading the Word and praying then I become more carnal. I'm walking in the flesh and not the spirit.
The enemy is sneaky though so like others have said we do need to put on and keep on the full armor of God and be prepared for spiritual battle.
I was at a point last year, where I was spending way too much of my time watching the news. This was odd because I never watched the news for more than 5 minutes before that. At first, I thought there was no harm in it, seeing it was only the news and not anything sinful....Well, that's what the enemy led me to believe, anyhow.
The more time I put into watching the news, the more I saw the negative effect in my life. I was just sitting around cursing the darkness....All I could think about was democrats this, democrats that, and how they were completely destroying our nation....Or BLM and all the deceived people following along with all that nonsense etc. etc. etc. I just got more and more upset and discouraged.
Long story shorter, that is when the friend I was talking about in my earlier post told me that instead of sitting around focusing on and cursing the darkness, I should light and candle.
I was taking my eyes off the Lord and putting too much focus on this world which is going to melt away. Almost letting my own candle/light go out.
There are many people lost and mislead and we should all be concerned about their souls. We should try to show a light to as many people as we can.
Anyways, I do think your thread is needed. The enemy is cunning and crafty so people (including myself) do need to be reminded of what is important....that is putting God first and walking in the Spirit and not the flesh.
