Marriage is not anything you can prepare for. You will only understand it when you are in it
Sounds like gatekeeping to me. I talk to married people all the time, some very happy, some could be more happy, but I understand the things they say- and I think Jesus and Paul understood it better than than a lot of married people understand what their marriage is supposed to be.

So, you're prepared then. Great.

Prepare to die?
yep

Or at least give your life away.

I wonder if a 'good end' means you both die together at exactly the same time.

While sleeping.. yes, this would be the best end. Or better yet, you are raptured together and don't have to experience physical death at all.

Well, I suppose some (most?) people go through counciling before marriage. Though with divorce rates so high, I'm not sure it helps any.

I agree with HisKid. You can't 100% prepare for marriage. I mean, there were some things I did pre-marriage to "prepare" like learning to cook and keep house and pray for "My future husband" and keep my body/heart pure.
But the actual dynamics of marriage can't really be practiced or prepared ahead of time. Too many variables.

Whether it's death or a break-up, romantic love ALWAYS ends in heartbreak on this side of Heaven. You can be as prepared as possible, and it still ends in heartbreak. So while you're preparing to be married, prepare for that inevitability too, if that is possible. You can tell yourself, "it's only so long" all you want, but it's still going to end in heartbreak.
