how do you justify salvation by faith alone? oh wait you can't

we are in a new covenant...the law was a shadow of what was to come

you are quite confused about scripture, which seems to be the common denominator between all those who combine the old and new testaments and produce a fake gospel and a works salvation
I will answer your question when you answer the one I asked first. How do you justify Matt 5:18-19? How do you interpret those two verses? I've already addressed Paul as a whole with 2nd Peter 3:16, and I have no problem addressing specific verses by him one at a time.

I run into a common theme in modern christianity where certain ppl that push a lawless theology don't address verses in scripture that seem to contradict their views. This does not even need to include first covenant writings.

It most certainly is my friend.

You are not to judge me and I am not to judge you.

But if your doing it to earn salvation. You will be judged. although not by me

You are simply incorrect. Romans 14 is a response to a letter we don't have and is addressing fasting, not the sabbath.

So why was Paul allowed to pick and choose which laws were obsolete, and which ones weren't? Why were circumcision and fasting laws ended, but the Sabbath was not?

Incorrect... It is a gospel of works AND faith... The masculine and feminine. They are not to be separated. On either side, one without the other leads to destruction.
eph 2 refutes this
Romans 4 refutes this
Titus 3 refutes this

I can go on and on and on.

You want to boast of earning your salvation. You will boast to yourself. As Paul said. If Abraham was found by works, he has something to boast about. But not before God.

Many will come to God on that day boasting of their works. And Jesus will say depart for he never knew you.

How do you justify Matt 5:18 and 19?
I already answered this (as you are apt to say) As well as james

if we keep the whole law yet stumble in one point we are guilty of all.

Ad hominem attacks do not represent the Christianity you claim to follow. Many people get emotional when their long held beliefs are challenged.
challenged?

Lol. you love to boast of yourself don't you?

The pharisees did that. See where it got them?

Romans 9:30-32

What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

So throw away the foundation of scripture... which is what the Messiah, the disciples, even Paul taught from and continuously referenced? This is why people are so confused today... Pick up a book translated from a different language, from people that lived a totally different culture, start reading it in the middle and think they can have a clear summary of it.
No this is why people are confused today.

1 Timothy 1:7-10

7 desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.
8 But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, 9 knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers,

The law was made for the unbeliever to lead them to Christ (the sinner)

It is not for the righteous.. (the believer) who have been saved. as paul said. we are no longer under a tutor.

Desiring to be teachers of the law and not knowing it? This speaks of why there is confusion. Because peoplke like you love to teach it. But you have no understanding of its purpose or its meaning

fasting?

You need to learn how to read my friend

5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; [a]and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it

This is in reference to the sabbath, there is no other "day" it could be talking about

This isn't good enough for the Judaizers. Nope, if there wasn't a whole letter written about it, it can't be referring to the Sabbath. ;-)

1. You CANT keep the law. If you think you can. You are in trouble
2. The law was not given to show you HOW to be righteous. It was given to show you how UNRIGHTEOUS you really are. (If you think you are keeping the law. then the law is not doing what it is supposed to do in your life. at this point, I would question if the law has led you to christ at all)
3. Keep Gods commands.. A person who is doing what I suggested will by practice keep his commands. A non believer can follow the law and keep Gods commands. Yet they are still in sin.. So trying to keep the law. as the pharisees did. and teaching others to do the same is religion. Not christian growth or the gospel.
4. Salvation is By grace. As paul said numerous times, If it is of grace, it is not of works. otherwise grace is no longer grace. If we have to do something to EARN salvation,. or to keep from losing salvation. we are trying to earn a reward. not a gift. and we BOAST of our salvation just as many people are doing here.
5. Earning rewards and blessing here on earth, That is of works. And what you posted about the requirements, this is about sanctification. Not justification/salvation.

To many people mix sanctification with salvation. These people are trusting in self. Not God and do not understand what being justified by Grace through faith is.

Paul made it clear. It is NOT by any work of righteousness (good deed) we have done. but it is by GODS mercy he saved us.

If your gonna add works to earning eternal life. You are preaching a different gospel. plain and simple
1. It is not about "keeping" the law how we view the word today. Although we all fall short, its about guarding it, protecting it and doing our best to follow it..... definitely not disregarding it and teaching others to do the same. (Mat 5:19 again)

2. How do you define righteousness? Is it not righteous to follow gods instructions... aka follow law?

3. A non-believer can not follow the law. That is the whole point of us needing The Messiah. The Pharisees were not following the law. either. Some may have been trying, but they ended up taking away and adding to it.... Like washing your hands before you eat. Again, we needed the Messiah to show us how we are REALLY supposed to keep law.

4. I agree... The question is what did this grace provide? 1. It provided freedom from the penalties for sin (breaking the law) under the first covenant... E.G. animal sacrifice, stoning. 2. It provided a role model for us to learn how to follow God's instructions (law) how they were meant to be followed.... these two things gave us a second chance at life.

5. We follow the law because we respect, honor and love our creator and believe he knows what's best, not because we want to get something out of it. Our hearts being in the right place prevents us from going astray from the law like the Pharisees. Regardless of our reasons though, the Father still makes it clear that there have been and still are benefits for doing what He says and consequences for not.

What you said Paul made clear is about "grace"... Yes, when we do receive grace it is free. We don't deserve it and its nothing that we did to get it. However grace does not apply to all of the blessings we receive from the Father. There are still conditional benefits and consequences.

I truly believed that God created Saturday as Sabbath and blessed that day. I have never had a right to condemn other people for not agreeing with me, and if I ever did it was unintentional. Through studies on this site, I now believe God gives us the freedom to choose the day to worship. I now believe that God lets us choose the day. It is God's world, not Sophie's or Blik's.

I feel it is my right to say what I believe, but no one has a right to judge people. They also have no right to accuse falsely. You are accusing falsely, you do not have that right.
great that you feel it is your right to say what you believe. ditto.

I'm not judging you. as usual, a person's own words judge them and you satisfy that concept rather nicely

how is it everything you do that hurts others is unintentional and then you do a 180 and do not give others the same doubt?

as it is though, it is your own words that are the problem
