Yes, we have begun to plan Christmas.
With the volume of cookies and candies I make and hand out as gifts...we have to.
Right now the biggest concern is the Chocolate. I need 20lbs of dark and 5lbs of white. I usually use callebaut chocolate. It was difficult last year to get it without paying outrageous prices for it.

After this....
I need to begin to make and buy the special liquors for the truffles.

Then it's time to lay in the butter and chocolate chips and sugars. (I'll freeze the butter)

Then the dried cherries, nuts, coconut and million other things like packaging, labels, stickers, and recipient lists.

Last minute things include the Florida oranges for candied orange peel and heavy cream for the batches of caramel (turtles, polar bear claws and etc)

It's a huge production...

Then there's the gingerbread house decorating parties...where every child (young and old) gets their own gingerbread house to cover with icing and store bought candy)
The parties usually have a gourmet meal to go with (guess who cooks that too)

It's an exhausting affair for me...but I do think that celebrating what Jesus has done for me is just a natural expression of gratitude. I feel no need to withhold my emotional and tasty expression on that.

The retail for similar treats (I've looked at what my peers are charging) and the gifts are indeed pricey.

But I also know that familiarity breeds contempt...so they might not see the value...but I know it's there. And that's the part that I think Jesus enjoys.

I'm sure that everyone has their own special things for Christmas or something else that they do. Many people have their new quarantine hobbies. (Mine is just a former profession) I have a few hobbies myself other than culinary arts. So does my wife. We just give them full venting. AKA "We let our freak flag fly" (try saying that 5times fast) .....ok out loud this time.

- pretty sure this is the easy part...
umm  last year I almost forgot ............
It was the first Christmas I let the kids have the frosting and decorations for Santa's cookies o_Oo_Oo_O
then they didn't want to give any to mom and dad - go figure.
Those cookies were so icky sweet and :sick::sick: that I knew "Santa" mom wasn't going to eat them that year, but almost forgot to move them away from the fireplace before the kids got up

My grandparents used to set out a Santa trap by the fireplace...it usually had a few red threads or cloth in it Christmas morning.

@zeroturbulence have you watched this little orange kitty Tan(who has since grown into an adult cat). He is a bundle of mischief :LOL:
It is filmed by a Korean guy and I think he does it well.

No I haven't seen that, Ruby. Awww what a tiny kitten :) I've actually been trying not to post too many kitten videos because I remember you said they might make you sad because you miss yours. ♥ That's why I started posting panda videos lol.

Thanks Zero but I am ok, I like watching them as I find them amusing. I like watching anything animal except sad ones like when they are sick or injured. Here's another one of mischief maker
