Remember when Jesus said no one will know when the end will be (only God knows) ? Why is that ? I'm not saying everyone should know as that could cause widespread panic, I'm talking about us christians who have to live in this world. I feel like as a follower of God/Jesus he should be giving us some kinda of power that non christians don't have (like being able to tell when the exact date and time of the end), but instead i feel like God has left us with seemingly nothing.

Ecclesiastes 3:15:

“That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.”
The “natural man” cannot grasp that, for to him reality is based only on the evidence of the senses. The man of reason could justify the verse’s end, saying if it has any meaning then the writer must mean recurrence. The sun comes every day and the moon completes its cycle and the seasons come and go. If we took a picture of the universe today, the scientists can compute how long it will take to return to this point in the picture. So the intellectual man could justify the verse; but that is not what is meant, for it is addressed not to the man of reason or the man of sense, but to the man of Imagination. What is it all about? “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been, and God seeks what has been driven away.”

Well it's similar to question why God won't tell us when we're going to die. I think our eyes should be in what God wants us to have them on, and not on when the end is.

There's a bounty of information regarding the signs that accompany the end times. As far as I can tell, everything except the exact date and time has been given to people.

I think making public the exact date would be revealing too much intel. While it may be true that true Christians have good motives in praying for God's kingdom come/will be done, the other side of the coin is that intel is value to the enemy, too.

He said that the Lord's coming is like a woman giving birth. No one knows the day or the hour that the baby will be born but they can definitely see the day approaching.

He said it would be like a farmer harvesting a crop. You don't know the day or the hour that the crop will be harvested, but you can definitely see the day approaching.

He likened it to the way in which the Jews get married. You begin the age of grace with the betrothal on the day of Pentecost when the bridegroom gives the bride the Spirit as a promise, and then He goes and prepares a place for them to live. When He is done He comes and gets the Bride and takes her to the house He has prepared. Now I ask, if you were the betrothed bride are you not going to visit and fellowship with your betrothed while he prepares that house? Aren't you going to bring Him sandwiches and lemonade? When you do this won't you see the house being built, the roof going on, the electricity being turned on, the paint and carpet? So you might not know the day or the hour, but you certainly know the day is very close.

Very fanciful in your part, but devoid of the truth of how Jewish betrothals occurred, so: No, no, and no.

Here (<= link). This page may help you understand better :)

What would you do if you knew? God knows exactly the right thing to do. If we needed to know, He would tell us.

Yeah you're right, I don't understand the true meaning of that verse.

That's not answering my question.

Yeah you're right, I don't understand the true meaning of that verse.
Watchmen use this verse to support their use of typology, say Noah's flood since the Lord said it would be like the days of Noah (future extinction event will be like the previous one), or Jonah, since we are told that the only sign the adulterous age would get would be the sign of Jonah (protesting in the streets of the evil Slave holders in Nineveh), or Lot, etc.

It is valid to use them, not to sketch out the outline but rather to fill in the background. You can go off the deep end when trying to correlate the types and shadows with current events.

Is there really too much information about knowing the end time ? I find it hard to believe God would keep that from us because of too much Intel.

People are already freaking out all over the place saying this and that is the mark of the beast (first it was the covid test and now it is what they call "the jab"), and that the rapture will be soon. Can you imagine if people actually knew the date? There would be wholesale panic and widespread insanity the likes we have never seen before, and people? It's already getting pretty crazy. The love of many has waxed cold.

I still don't see what this has to do with what I'm asking

Think of it as knowing the day of a final exam. Yes, it is important to know, but if you haven't prepared for the exam it is kind of pointless. Our students know the day they are supposed to come for the exam but don't find out what room they are in until that morning. However, we spent all year focusing on what they need to learn for that test.

That's why I'm only referring to Christians knowing the time and not the world as a whole.

I understand your statement, but fail to see this as an excuse for God not tell us.

People are going off the deep end is what I got out of it.
Conspiracy theory central is growing by leaps and bounds.

Have you not noticed that a lot of Christians are deep into conspiracy theories?

To be fair, some of those theories end up being correct.

You want to know about the rapture? Well Jesus said it would be like the days of Noah, Noah entered the ark, during the rapture we will enter a heavenly chamber. The flood came after he entered the ark, many believe the tribulation will begin after the rapture.

However, some take this to the next level. On the 9th of AV Noah released the Dove and the Raven depicting the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Antichrist. The 9th of AV this year is August 16th.

Some feel that the date on which "the tops of the mountains are visible" in that story might refer to the first rapture. Seems a little bit of a stretch for me.

Others think that Ruth is a type of the Gentile Bride being raptured by Christ, this took place around the time of the Barley harvest.

Others look at Song of Songs when the Lord tells His beloved to come away and describes the green figs and the grapes on the vine as a description of the season of the rapture.

Do you now see how it might apply?
