my friend, you are wrong we are not talking about work now we are talking about obedience
Hebrew 5
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Eternal salvation to all that obey Him(obey Jesus!)
I am talking about your salvation by work/obedience whatever you want to call it

i do obey, but that’s NT why I will be saved, you think it is why you will be saved,

that’s the issue my friend

there is alot to the truth. God has a very big mind, but ours -- smaller.

and when we point out errors or blinders (thought of as errors by us) of other people, we must be careful to check for any errors or blinders in our own self.

the body of Christ has many members, and others help us (or can) to see -- better.

So in regards to Hebrews 5:9, who obeys Him? The saved or the lost? I often hear works-salvationists cite this verse to try and support salvation by works, including Roman Catholics and Mormons.

*Only believers have obeyed Him by choosing to believe the gospel (Romans 1:16) in order to become saved, and only believers obey Him after they have been saved through faith by practicing righteousness and not sin. (1 John 3:9,10) In either sense, only believers obey Him.

*Unbelievers have not obeyed Him by refusing to believe the gospel (Romans 10:16) and without faith its impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6), so unbelievers do not obey Him no matter how much "so called" obedience that they attempt to conjure up through the flesh in a vain effort to receive salvation based on works. So in either sense, unbelievers do not obey Him.

The lost not obey Jesus the verse say Jesus give eternal salvation to all who OBEY ....
so it clear mean obey mean save

Roman Catholic and Mormon have different understanding what work mean
Loving work is not against Jesus it is the fruit of the Holy Spirit
For RCC work mean religious ritual like baptism sacrament Eucharist etc that is only legalism nothing to do with Holy Spirit’s fruit

Because of faith Noah build an arch

Yes the root cause Noah is faith but can you say Noah have faith if He not build an arch?
So Noah translate his faith into thousand hours of work build an arch without power tool

the pharisee obeyed, will they be in heaven?
No. They didn't obey. They made up their own rules making the commandments of God of none effect. This is the major misunderstanding you have of the pharisees and one that Christian teachers get seriously wrong. They weren't obedient to the law, that was Messiah's problem with them. They were hypocrites.

Mark 7:13
Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Matthew 15:1-9
Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, 2“Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They do not wash their hands before they eat.”

3 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’

5 But you say that if anyone says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever you would have received from me is a gift devoted to God,’ he need not honor his father or mother with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you:

8 ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the commandments of men.’

actually yeah they did. Jesus even said our righteousness must exceed there’s. According to the law they were the most righteous people on earth (according to the law)

Thats why Jesus said Our righteousness must exceed theirs if we want to be good enough.

But hey. Continue to think you will save yourself. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can help you. We have tried. You refuse to listen
