My point was if we think we are pulling off keeping the commandments as they ought to be kept we are deluding ourselves. Christ’s purity at pleasing the Father was light years above ours. He sets the standard at loving the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and strength which implies all the time…and remember if we fail at one point of the law it is as if we have broken all.
When we are born again, it no longer becomes a matter of ‘trying’ but we will naturally want to be pleasing to Him and be repelled by intentional sin. Our faith in Jesus covers our sins.
WE are to obey His commands love God, love your neighbor, love one another, this is a way of life of course I love God with all my heart soul and strength all the time it does not fluctuate, loving others I have to rely on God's power within me. But of course we are to rely on Jesus forgiveness and always have a repentant heart, crucify the flesh, our faith in Christ covers our sins, but we can't pretend that abominations can't be helped and these sinners are never convicted by the Holy Spirit because they never received Him in them to do so.

Jesus said: John. 14. [15] If ye love me, keep my commandments. [21] He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

What are Jesus commandments? To Love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
To Love your neighbor as you love yourself. On these two commandments hang ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS.”

what does that mean? It means if you love God with all your heart and all your soul you won't go against Him, or have other Gods before Him, you will keep Him first and seek to do His will. You would never use His name in vain or as a swear word. You would obey Him.

And the second is like it, love your neighbor as you love yourself
what does it mean with relation to the law and the prophets? It means if you love your neighbor as you love yourself you won't covet his wife or his belongings, you won't steal from him, you won't bare false witness against him, you would never murder him, you would forgive him.

Jesus gave us the golden rule do unto others as youm would have them do unto you.

John 13:34
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.



Jesus commandments are even stricter than the old 10 and if you obey all the teachings of Jesus, well then you'd have to repent, rejoice, let your light shine, do not lust, keep your word, go the second mile, love your enemies, give and pray in secret, lay up treasures in heaven from good deeds, seek God's kingdom, judge not, make disciples, follow Him, be born again, baptize His disciples, , watch and pray, await His return, feed His sheep, bring in the poor, render to Ceasar. beware of covetousness, forgive offenders, honor marriage, be a servant, deny yourself, beware of leaven, honor your parents, take His yoke, fear not, worry not, be wise as serpents, pray for laborers, do not cast your pearls, choose the narrow path, ask seek knock, beware of false prophets

Now let's just say, love God, love your neighbor, and love one another, because Jesus said my yoke is easy my burden is light.

Not being under the law of Moses does not mean you have liscense to murder, cheat, steal, lie, and all lawlessness Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Yes, so our focus should not even be on the ten commands, They should be on The law of christ.

However, as I think I have stated, To think we love God perfectly. I think we need to deeply consider this, and also consider as Jesus said, No one is good but God. And John when he said if anyone claims to be without sin, including him, they are decieved.

YEP! You are a mature person in the faith.

I have heard it taught that you have to go to some churches and religions to get back under the law, as we see here.
Jesus said ALL things become new in Him, many today have trouble grasping that ALL means ALL.

I am not condemed. I don't claim to be perfect and am not trying to boast but I am abiding in Christ and loving God with all my heart soul and strength in my utmost human capacity, I am not capable of Agape love which is the level of love God loves, and am not convicted of not striving hard enough to be perfect, as I stated before I do not love my enemies I pity them for they are ungodly and will see the wrath of God. This makes me imperfect but it is not a sin to not love your enemies it IS falling short of being good or perfect, but it doesn't mean I don't try to love everybody, but when they show their hate for God and I see how they have been given over to a debased mind, I clearly see why. Still I am not chastised for it and know grace has covered me. The law of Christ is not sinning (breaking the 10 commandments) against your neighbor as you never would covet, steal, murder, bare false witness, dishonor your parents, be idolatrous, etc. if you love God and your neighbor as you love yourself.

when you repent you are changing your life away from "what you already broke" Jesus forgave us when we became born again, I SAID the Holy Spirit HELPS us keep the 10 commanments, which is the same as not doing ungodly things, they are there as a guideline, I never said He controls us. And of course we have free will, but it is easy to resist temptation when you have Jesus living His life in you and walk in the spirit who empowers us with the power of His spirit, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Christians who don't pray or read the word of God are obviously not hungry for God and I don't believe they had a true conversion and received the Holy Spirit especially if they are still living in sin they are not true believers
but we are justified by the law but free from it :) that law has no power over us. We look not to keep the law but to become like Christ.

it is not a sin not to pray for your enemies, or love them, it is not breaking the ten commandments.

James 4
17 Therefore to him that knoweth how to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

There are so many ways to sin. Even if anyone kept all the ten commandments perfectly they could still be sinning and breaking the commandments of Jesus which is mainly love.

The first and greatest commandment is to love God with all our heart, mind, and soul. This is having a loving an intimate relationship with Him. We love, fear (reverence) God above all else. This is not trying to keep the commandments to somehow prove ourselves worthy of his love. But if we truly love Him and walk with Him in the Spirit then all else will follow. However, when and if we sin we have an advocate who LIVES to make intercession for us. We have forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ. We don't have to write the commandments on our hands or hang them around our necks (like the Jews thought), and try to follow the letter of the law to gain acceptance from God. Jesus set us free from all that.

It really is a beautiful thing.

who is the only one in the history of the world who was able to keep the law perfectly as God intended, so how does He live His life in us? By giving us the power of the Holy Spirit to resist temptation and transform our lives into the righteousness of God to resist the devil and watch him flee. To live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. Which is a life obedient to God's word. If you do not keep the law you are lawless and free to sin?! Without any moral obligation to keep yourselves pure and holy as our bodies are the temple of God,? I'm sorry but with The Holy Spirit living in me and Jesus and Father God making their home in me walking with me, I'm going to keep from behaving immorally and grieving them, and they give me the power I need to be sanctified. I no longer watch mainstream TV with all the male on male kissing and female on female making out sex scenes, nudity, and violence that is all disgusting to me and an abomination to God. It is no longer we who live as we crucify the flesh it is Jesus our Lord and Savior who lives His life in us, and He certainly is not going to partake in a sinful lifestyle.

Amen, This is what I think Jesus tried to explain in his sermon on the mount when he said multiple times the law says, But I say..

He was showing how we can obey the letter, and still sin,

He fulfilled it. The law was not made for God, it was made to show man their need for God. God knew man could not keep his Law so Because God requires Blood for breaking HIS law we were without hope. He because of HIS love sent Himself to free us from the penalty of death caused by sin from breaking the laws of God.

The Holy Spirit living in you, when you sin is it Him or you that failed? Sanctification is PROCESS, which happens over your lifetime. As long as you have the flesh there is a war in your members that must be brought into obedience to the word of God.

well put, I know that I never strived to keep all the 10 commandments, it just happened naturally I haven't told a lie since I got saved and have not stolen or cheated, or broken any of the others. It is Jesus who changed me the power of the Holy Spirit in me, I guess I am still a work in progress as to not loving everybody, but you quote "to him that knoweth how to do good and doeth it not, to him it is a sin. Well I don't know how to love my enemies, I forgive them but don't care to pray for them to get saved as I don't want any kind of fellowship with them. I prefer to isolate and spend time in fellowship with God. We are told though to write his commands on our hearts.

In that day, when God comes to establish his kingdom, this is what will happen. “I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (31:33 NRSV).

The new covenant that God promised through Jeremiah involves three things.

1. God’s law becomes internal. In the end, it didn’t work for God to give people his law written on tablets of stone, because their hearts were still hearts of stone. The law remained external to them, never fully internalized as basic principles for living. Even when they did obey, they were like people obeying the speed limit just to avoid getting a ticket, not people who instinctively drive at the limit because they know it is the safest thing to do. God says, “I’m going to change that. I’ll put my law inside them. I’ll write it with my own finger on their hearts.”
2. We have direct knowledge of God. Here’s what the Lord said in Jeremiah 31:34 –"No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest."
3. We are forgiven. In the new covenant, God said, “I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." Isn’t that what you want? God does not forget his promises or his lost sheep – or his laws. The only thing God forgets is our sins. Isn’t that what you want – to be forgiven, and to know that you can start over with God?

No matter what I do, this world is going to continue its descent into the cesspool of it's fallen condition, the best I can do is to try not to get any of it on me, too hard to wipe off and it doesn't smell good. Praying for deliverance and looking up.

well, there we go, you have found the difficulty a Spirit filled person finds here at CC.
It is possible and we have had in the past , a private group where we can share what Holy spirit is teaching us, we few who walk in Holy Spirit anointing, perhaps we can do the PM thing and then if we want, go on to a private group.

Ebeth33, you and I, and a few others grasp the scriptural truth that we are no longer our own when we are His, His thoughts become ours, etc. and thus we no longer have our own "opinion" as we are conformed to the image of the Son. We are "hidden in Him" as scripture clearly instructs.

His Own are getting better, more conformed to His image, the others..... also more conformed to the one they give first place to, and the wheat and tares are growing together till harvest.

I'm reading some bizarre posts here.

Ebeth started this thread by saying that she no longer sinned. I quoted her statements a few posts back.

Then, some Christians come in here and defend that statement, when it is clearly not scriptural. Christians sin. Are we new creatures? Yes. Are we perfected in this life? No. Therefore, we are going to sin, even as regenerated believers. Paul -- possibly the greatest Christian to ever live -- admitted as much. (I am the chief of sinners.)

The issue as I understand it is this: Do you battle with your sinful nature or do you like your sinful nature? I battle with mine. I got some sinful habits, have sinful thoughts, sometimes say sinful things. But, I see myself in a struggle with those things. I don't cheerfully embrace them. And, I know of no Christian on this earth, with the exception of Ebeth and those here who are encouraging her, who don't.
