Yes, from the sea I have risen. But, I'm not here to crush buildings or people, only other titans who would dare challenge my alpha status.

I'm not originally from the ocean depths (did I fool you?), but from NYC. Got a bit of the 'tude and everything. I miss it, but the American Left has destroyed it, so I don't plan to go back any time soon. After almost 18 years in L.A., I'm now living in AZ, near Phoenix.

I met my wife online, then still living in NY while she was in L.A. I moved to L.A. in 2001, and we married in 2004. She passed away less than 5 years later. Been widowed and uninvolved since.

I've been a computer graphic artist since 1993, and will soon be starting a job creating photo-real, 3D graphical renders of a company's products. Pray I have success in my work there, please.

I have many interests. Among them are
* stargazing / astronomy,
* science fiction TV / movies
* 80s new wave (movie scores and some foreign music as well)
* collecting vinyl records
* being an audiophile
* videography
* LOVE movies
* museums
* NYC sports teams (though not lately with all the kneeling and virtue-signaling)
* following current events & culture war issues
* reading (history & political science; the occasional novel)
* writing (working on a blog and a vlog)
* working out (but I have a weakness for carbs)
* and occasionally martial arts.

My politics are conservative / classically liberal. My beliefs are Biblical. I have my own opinions about some things (e.g., I theorize that people are in Hell because they choose to be, I believe in a post-trip rapture, etc.). But, I try to not steer away from the Scriptures on any given topic. It's God's word, not mine.

I hope to marry while my body is still functional, though I am trying to submit that to God's sovereignty. I am also praying that America turns from her current, dark course.

Nope. That's it. No more.

:)

I also sing and dance, but mostly in the shower. I travel to distant worlds and breathe radioactive gas from my belly, but only in my mind. I'm pretty boring.

Hello Gojira, welcome to Christian Chat.

I hope you'll enjoy your stay here.

Thanks Deade! (How do you pronounce your name? Deed or Deedee? Or maybe Day-ah-deh?)

Well this is a first, I found someone I (almost) missed in the Intro section. Since you've been broken in already, ah well, I will still go by my unofficial duty of welcoming you into this fine array of CC members. Oh be forewarned, I'm a pre-tribber and don't blame everything on the Left or Right. God bless you!

I met my late second wife on an AOL Romance Christian Single chat site in 2002. She died 11 yrs and 2 months later. Met my current (and last wife) on this site who is also a member shortly after I joined in 2014. I enjoyed your comprehensive intro post and believe that you are going to fit right in here. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Well shoot. Thank you. I hope you're right. I've already been in two, semi-heated debates. I've managed to keep my cool in both, and I know this kind of thing is inevitable, even among Christians, but still.

The BDF (Bible Discussion Forum) can be a hostile place. There are a few peeps that are very opinionated and also the occasional holier than thou types. Mostly, even though I'm married I hang out in the Singles forum. For a friendly laid back experience I recommend the SYM (Speak Your Mind) thread. It is an oasis in the BDF. The one that originated it years ago had a sense of humor placing it in that forum instead of the singles forum. Seriously, SYM is a fun place with many frequent contributors.

No no... it's okay. I came here knowing this would be an issue. Online forums are always laced with hostility and argumentation. I am prepared to debate, keep my cool, make my points, and when I see an issue resolved -- or that it never will be -- I move on.

Some of my discussions here have indeed been fun and light as well. GodsGirl83 and I have been going back and forth about eating the sky of Mars. Yes, you read that right. That's how silly some of my convos here have been :D

My ultimate goal / desire is to make some Christian friends. I have them, but they're all out of state. (I moved to AZ two years ago and have not been able to develop a social life out here as of yet, the covid shutdowns being partially responsible for that. Now... would I like to meet a woman here too? Oh hell yeah. But, I don't believe that to be likely. Who wants a 5'6", 225lb., 57yo man who shaves his scalp, with a graying goatee and hazel eyes? Not many. But, this is perhaps another conversation for another place.)

Anyway, thanks for the welcome and the encouragement. The debates will come, and they must come. Issues need to be debated, clarified, and digested properly if we are to do the most good we can in this life. Prepared I am. But, we do also need the light-hearted (why I get away from all the tension of the day by watching Seinfeld or King of Queens), and I do expect to get that here, too.

Our stories are similar. I met my late wife through a friend of hers in an AIM chat session. March 1, 1998, ~11pm, eastern time, if memory serves. However, after she died in April of 2009, that was the last woman God blessed me with.

GG @Godsgirl83 is a sweetheart and a good wife and mother. I was a broken down 59 year old when I met my wife here in the forums so I don't think that you would have much of a problem being a 57 year old. It did help that we lived in the same state (Florida) a 120 miles apart. Actually, you are a very interesting person.

Short and sweet but a blessing nevertheless.
