Often in the KJV when the generic "food" is spoken of, they say "meat". When they're talking about eating actual meat, they say "flesh". Like when Yahweh gave them "flesh" to eat in the evening (quail) and bread in the mornings (manna). According to the Strong's Concordance EVERY instance of the word "bread" is the Hebrew word
lechem, which means literal bread or grain.
