Yes, I believe in circumstances where there is a hard decision to make the will of God supersedes the law of men. I do not think this is one of those circumstances.

As for the second part of your post, although the two become one, the two do not become the head. We are vines grafted into the Branch that is Christ. We become One with Christ as His Body, but we are not the Head of the Body. We do not discipline Christ and the wife does not discipline the husband. When my children were younger and they thought I was doing something my wife would disagree with, they would say, “I’m telling Mom and you’re going to be in trouble.” I corrected them by saying, “That’s impossible, I’m the boss. I can’t be ‘in trouble’. She can only give me grief.” …and that she does.
Well, you're entitled to live as you wish in your own home.
However, you may wish to remember one truism if you have a daughter.

The daughter shall seek out the life she witnessed her father give his wife.

To equate the place of husband with the equal authority of Christ is unparallel hubris.
Living as if the wife is subject to the husband but the husband is not subject to the wife is orthodox Judaism.

Not Christianity.

If you are referring to the rule of thumb, it’s not Scriptural nor did I recommend it in the least. That was a law in America. Anyways Exodus 21:20-21 clearly states my that it is permissible to beat a slave with a rod, nearly to death. If he or she is fine after a day or two it’s acceptable because you own them. You were the one who brought up that wives should tolerate buffeting as a slave. Clearly you weren’t ok with it, nor am I. I was stating what has been acceptable since the wilderness up until recent history.
I apologize I must have misread it.

This is sad guys.

I'm not a feminist in the least. I do believe that the man is the head and a woman should submit to their husband, but physical abuse is uncalled for and not scriptural.

God has made the roles clear. If anyone husband or wife violates them then it will be God who judges.

How do you guys take this verse:

Hebrews 13

17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Does this mean that if you don't submit to your pastor, then he has the right to smack you guys around or paddle you in church?:giggle::unsure:

Nothing is sexier than a woman who knows how to use a rolling pin? What ever happened to the June Cleavers out there? Every episode of Leave it to Beaver she was in the kitchen. I’m not sure most people even own a rolling pin anymore. Maybe the dudes threw them out to avoid the bruises.[/QUOTE]

Oh I can wield a rolling pin, trust me!! I've told these stories before. When I met my hubby I had traveled for 20 yrs. in ministry. I had no idea about cooking or house keeping. I was really worried about this when he proposed to me. Finally one day I broke down and was straight with him about it, not that he didn't already know. He came over to me, kissed me on the forehead and said " I'm marrying you because I love you, not because I need a maid". That took a lot of pressure off me. When we moved into our house together after we married he would do most of the cooking, but he would give me a tip here and there. He never made me feel bad for not doing my part. I decided to dip a toe in and try to cook, then to bake. The first year we were married the doctor told my husband he needed to lose weight. Not to brag, I seemed to have a knack for it, I surprised myself and my hubby too. But if I hadn't had that talent, he was more than willing to work around that. One of the many reasons I love him.

When 50 shades came out, and everyone was talking about it. There was a radio DJ whose mom didn’t order stuff on line so thinking it was just some book he ordered it for her. Anyways, the callers all reported about how this book was causing their wives to go crazy sexual. Dudes who were sexually starved, all of a sudden couldn’t get a break. This is what spurred my investigation. There’s many more groups than you would believe who practice this regularly. It’s not a sexual thing. They just feel it improves their relationship, clearly defines their roles and causes the wife to be receptive sexually. The more I researched biological reasons, it points to basic instinct. Like most mammals a show of dominance in males causes these natural reactions in females.

You know what makes women go "crazy sexual"? Come closer and let me whisper it in your ear... they go crazy when... men listen to their needs and meet them, help them when they need it, are sensitive and notice when they are stressed or need to talk. It's not a big secret, it's really that simple. Yes, really.

Historically women have been viewed as property. This sissified age we're in will not last. Women will be owned. They will be bought and sold, stolen, fought over.... and slapped among other things. It is the historical reality.

Y'all better not head south. Ladies down here carry, and I don't mean babies. S@W right between the eyes. They aren't gonna be owned, sold or slapped. That dog won't hunt. Mark my words.

I hope no one takes you seriously.

It's my experience these type threads are invitations for insinuating insults against women while using God as a cover.

Nah, a slap is hurting nothing more than your pride. Hungry doesn't condone abuse and neither do I.
Were that last part true I don't believe you would be saying a slap to a woman's face doesn't hurt anything but her pride.

Kayla, I appreciate the spirit. I really do. But a woman with a gun isn't going to stop what's coming. We're going to be enveloped by a relentless tide of barbarity. All of us.. At that point women will pray for and latch onto ANYONE with enough power to protect them from the violence that will surround them.

But look on the bright side...when it gets truly crazy, then most men will become property also. And at that point women will be much more valuable than men. So you've got that going for you. :)

Who are the property owners?
