I don't really "cope" with it.

I have lived long upon the earth and seen the hand of God in many situations that might otherwise have killed me and many people with me. He has graciously placed me in the eye of the hurricane.

I live in Florida and have seen a hurricane eye go over my home a time or two. It's an interesting experience not generally talked about on TV news when the storm season arrives. TV news relate stories about airplanes flying through the eye, but folks on the ground can't really get out of the way or go around it. When it comes it's amazing. All is calm in the eye of the storm, while everything around it is thrashing madly. Clouds sail through the sky at sixty miles an hour or faster. It's really odd to see clouds flying by that fast! Meanwhile I stand on the ground in a perfect calm. Unreal.

Getting in the eye of God's hurricane is more than just quoting epigrams in one's letters emails and posts. It involves actively seeking God's protection, and that isn't an easy task these days. Churches are full of wickedness that excuses all sorts of SIN. God hates it and will not protect those who wallow in it.

The coping part is in God's protection. He does NOT protect everyone - only those who earnestly seek and DO His will does He protect.

Which is why America is circling the drain of history.

Divine protection is no longer upon us. Fools rule our halls of government and every day we see evidence of curses, not blessings upon our country. America has turned its back upon God. I do not EVER pray for the nation, but each day I pray for those who seek and Do God's will and have surrendered to it. Such people are becoming more rare each day it seems.

I do think artificial intelligence will play a key role. Perhaps it'll be used to prove that realistic simulations with characters that have aelf-awareness are possible.

I don't think they could ever prove robotics have self-awareness but I guess it depends on what one means.

Science fiction has dealt with this theme many times. 2001 Hal the computer on the ship....had he really become self-aware a real life form? CPO robot in Star Wars? Han Solo always treating him like a nothing...walks away not talking to him much. Data on Enterprise....did he deserve the respect you'd give a person? Should he ever have been given a level of rank above another. They did some shows leaving the impression he's a REAL person.

On the old Twilight Zone shows done in the late 50's was a very interesting story called, "The Lonely" Story line a criminal was put on a far off barren world to live alone the rest of his life. Supply ships bringing him supplies ever so often brought him a female robot to keep him company. He despised her at first thinking she wasn't really a life form, but one day as she cried he changed his mind and fell in love with her. Interesting story with an interesting ending but was this robot REALLY self-ware? Would such a thing ever say be given the right for a vote in a election which would be the ultimate acceptance that they're self-aware.

I'd say the world may want to say the Beast in revelations or the image or if it will be artificial intelligence seemingly becoming self aware....the world may claim that it has.....doesn't mean it TRULY will have achieve that though. Men's minds can become duped and deceived about a great many things. I believe self awareness has to have with it a spiritual element all of which a machine couldn't have. Those of the future might call my position narrow and bigoted....wouldn't mean that it would be though if indeed what I believed about it was the truth.
