This is an open mic cafe, much like AGT. You can sing, dance, tell jokes whatever you feel like. I'm not sure what I would do :LOL:

I have played guitar, played and sung, and also recited poetry at open mics :D

Oy, oh yeah, I sang karaoke for a while, too :unsure::giggle:

I have heard it said that music has the power to change the world...

It sounds like a bit of an exaggeration, but then look at what the "British invasion" did :oops::LOL:

Music does have a way of speaking to people... in quite a universal fashion :)

Interesting, too, that people never seem to tire of hearing certain songs :unsure:(y):geek:

Somehow the message is made much more palatable to repetition through melody :D

PS~ I watched a Netflix movie/doc on Clive Davis recently. He was a music
industry mogul, quite successful, and well respected by the artists he signed :)

Me too! One of the comments on Mason's rendition has this to say:

THE signature instrumental of the late 1960's. All the strife, tension, turmoil, tragedy,
upheaval, change -- as well as all the emotion, hope, joy, love, progress, and wonder
of those incredible, turbulent years is contained in this piece. "Classical" indeed.

Perhaps it is not so much talent as just pure gutsiness :giggle::unsure:;):unsure::giggle:

It may be true that the hardest part is to stop worrying about what others will think ;)

The fist few times I got on stage to play guitar, when I made
a mistake I would freeze and instantly forget everything LOL

True. I can easily imagine a montage of scenes from the 60's with that playing in the background. The hippies, the anti-war protests, the peace signs, the lunar landing, the vietnam war, the concerts, free love, etc..

I remember at a previous job I had to do public speaking by taking tourists for tours. Sometimes the group could be as small as two or as large as close to a hundred. I had to pray and ask God for help lol but then I got used to it. I am not naturally that way inclined. I think I froze a bit and was probably either very pale at the time or bright red :giggle:o_O

Public speaking IS scary!!! :giggle:

Getting called on to speak at a meeting, especially a
podium meeting, was often nerve wracking for me :oops::censored:

I saw this video a few years back and think it's a great tribute to our vietnam vets. It also shows some of the protests as well as some of the big welcome homes.

Remember Al Stewart? He was somewhat famous before he ever did Year of the Cat ;):giggle:

He was a great story-teller and fabulous guitarist :) I saw him in concert in the 70s :cool:

Is anyone here an expert on trouble shooting HP printers? I have a 5640 series HP printer that will not print properly. Color only prints when running a test page and black ink prints for the most part, but is faded or missing at times. I tried aligning it, cleaning the cartridges, restarting it etc.. but nothing works. The printer is not very old and we have hardly used it. :(
