1 Corinthians 13:8 closes "where there is knowledge, it will pass away."
If you are just accumulating information you will never understand it
Acting from that understanding is wisdom
What the Greeks called sophrosyne... its opposite was hubris, and the personification of this (their Satan) is Nemesis, a goddess
Nemesis is also the name of my cat. Just saying. 🤣
As for you saying that Satan is division, you are quite correct. The old words 'United we stand, divided we fall' were never more true.
I actually came into this thread and made the revelation that I am gay fully knowing that it would cause a stir, but hoped to get past it in order to share knowledge from Catholic prophets.
That knowledge is that Satan is walking the earth right now. We are heading toward the end of a 100 year reign. It will end with an event called 'the warning' and it will happen sometime in the next 100 years. Most likely significantly sooner than that.
The arguments and division being seen in this thread are EXACTLY how Satan is destroying the church. He's caused people to fall away in massive numbers through revealing the wrongdoings of the clergy and he's poisoning the well for those who remain within by causing disagreement and dissent.
Homosexuality is one of many tools he's using to cause schisms and fractures. But Christians need to understand that the high and mighty behaviour they're showing in this thread is only feeding Satan's cause. Jesus will take anyone in who truly loves him and accepts his word on their heart.
I've been praying over this myself a lot. And God HAS spoken to me. He's told me I need to listen to the words of a prominent prophet I know and live in the spirit of atonement.
And if we read the old testament, we know that through atonement (sack cloth and ashes) the Jews were able to change God's mind when he was ready to chastise them with great punishments.
This is not an excuse to go and do whatever one desires for gay people, it's an acknowledgment that we must do everything we can to live up to the word but because we do fall short, we need to live repentance through atonement - which is the act of sorrow in our heart for having offended God and works that attempt to make up for it.
So the actual answer to the OP in this thread is that yes, the church should show love to Gay people. No gay marriage is not right and it is sinful. Christian gay people need to live their life in atonement. They can achieve this by living selflessly and without ego and in service to others ahead of themselves. Of course, lots of prayer and repentance goes with this too.
