Has anyone seen what is going on in Canada. Native American (North American Indians) children were pulled out of their homes from the 1800s until the 1980s by the Catholic Church. They were given new names, and released into society. This way they didn’t receive their privileges from the treaty. Many were tortured and killed. They have recently uncovered mass graves of thousands of children. Only three schools out of hundreds have been investigated so far. Absolute genocide.

Yeah, saw it all over my FB yesterday with everyone saying Canadians shouldn't be celebrating their special day. smh So annoying, Trudeau trying to shadow the US. Sad what happened, long time ago, not happening today. Move on.
It’s happened within last 40 years. Not exactly ancient history. I’m just curious about the Catholics reaction. How much more evidence will it take to open the eyes of the masses to see that the Catholic Church and the pope do not represent Christianity.

The last residential school that was responsible for kidnapping, torturing and killing native children was closed in 1996, in Saskatchewan. These schools were ran by the Catholic Church.
True. All the politicians and judges in Canada have decided that it's time to imitate Communist China. The lockdowns are just an excuse to impose tyranny on a free country. And hardly anyone in Canada is standing up for freedom.
At the same time no one stopped the toppling of the statues of Queen Victoria and Captain Cook (and others). So the Feds have become as Woke as Biden and his gang of thugs. What we are seeing right now is the Bolshevik Revolution being supported by the very people who should be opposing it with all their might.
Who knows how ugly this could get? I think the Native Canadians have been waiting for a cause such as this to rise up. If they decide to start a war, it won’t end well for a number of mild mannered unprepared locals are caught in the wrong place with the wrong colour of skin.

Then the guilt lies with whoever allowed that to happen. Nothing for the country to be ashamed of, so ashamed they can't celebrate Canada day. That's nonsense.

I agree that going to court is the “Canadian” way to handle it. If the government and church targeted my family for a century and deliberately attempted to wipe us out and strip us of our heritage and beliefs through torture and genocide, I wouldn’t feel very “Canadian”. Regardless, they are armed and angry. I don’t think a public apology and a lump sum of restitution quite heals the hurt.

So murder and destruction "heal the hurt"? The past is the past. Go to court, best solution. Though I though you said it was the Catholic church, not the gov't. Either way, you don't punish people who had nothing to do with it.

But I would say many people would hage qualms celebrating something that has destroyed its own people.
It goes deeper than that, and it wasn't just the Catholic "church" that was involved. The federal government was complicit, and actively participated in setting up the schools, enforcing enrollment (at the point of a gun, in many cases), and hiding the evidence of corruption and mistreatment. The Anglican church was also involved, as were other groups.
"Thousands" is an exaggeration. There were 751 unmarked graves at Cowesses, SK, and 215 near Kamloops, BC. Not all were children.
There is ongoing research to locate additional sites and to identify the dead. The facts are bad enough; let's not be spreading misinformation about this.
There are almost 140 schools. Those are the bodies found at the first three they investigated. Thousands will be accurate.
I agree... we have inherited a horrible legacy, and the only way to deal with it is in Christ. The trouble is, people (and government) will try many other ways, and do more damage.

Well Canada Day and the 4th of July in the states are now "history". They mean nothing to the Communists controlling North America.
The problem is that when the conservative Reform Party under Harper had a golden opportunity to really and truly y address the plight of Native Canadians they did absolutely nothing concrete. That would have included the issue of children in Catholic and Anglican schools and what happened (both positive and negative).
Each and every treaty should have been reviewed, the Indian Act should have been revised or abolished, new treaties should have been drawn up and an effort made to stop Indians from continuing to be wards of the Federal Government. Yet not a single federal government over the last 50-70 years has bothered to do anything substantial.
It is significant that even though the issue of mistreatment of Indian children has been around for decades, it happens to have popped up just now out of the blue (so to speak). Which means that there may be some foreign powers or individuals seeking to create racial tensions in Canada as they did in America last year.
The burning down of so many churches and the toppling of significant statues means that there is a Marxist/Communist agenda being promoted from outside. The fact that feckless Communist Justin Trudeau is running (ruining?) Canada at this time also has a bearing on this matter. But it all goes back to negligence on the part of "conservatives" who were as self-seeking as the Liberals. And now there is no conservative party just like the RINOs are basically useless.
