The 1619 folks would have us all believe that America is a systemically racist society, always has been, and we should be ashamed of our country's history.
Well, there is no doubt this country often tolerated HUGE injustices toward Blacks and Native Americans.. no doubt whatsoever that atrocities were committed..
But today, we are and have been for a long time, attempting to make it up to those groups. In Oklahoma, Native Americans, IMO are even treated better than Whites when it comes to certain govt services.. (meaning they get help whereas Whites cannot)
just my opinion but I lived there for many years... so anyway..
Blacks have been able to make it big... I mean, come on, we have Oprah... we had Whitney Houston.. could go on all day... we had a Black president (mulatto) for 8 LONG, grueling years... whew...
I started to say thank God that's over with but it is NOT... since we have the same thing in the WH now...
In any case, the US put an END to slavery. The 1619 folks seem to ignore entirely such things as.. oh, i dunno.. Abraham Lincoln, first Republican President.. little snippets of history like the Civil War and etc...
We could have kept slavery. We did not.. People bled and died to put an end to it..
And they also will not tell you about how Blacks sold their own people into slavery.. But you know how that goes: Blacks are exempt from moral laws that some of us tend to think are written on the human heart (until said human heart says No to them...)
