There is a connection - Jesus, the word, the sower of the word, a new people called by my name
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
John 1:1
3 A farmer went out to sow his seed.
4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.
6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.
8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop--a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
9 He who has ears, let him hear.
Matt 13:3-9
I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
Jerem 31:33-34
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
John 15:7
How are we transformed? By the renewing of our minds.
Paul, Peter etc were all Jews stepped in the law and the word of God.
It was His word dwelling in them that changed and molded them.
The concepts, the precepts, the ways of being, of giving and receiving, of doing everything we have, it is
the light of life.
In the parable of the seed and the sower, the seed is Gods word. Gods word goes forth and works
through a persons heart and creates a plant, changing them, convicting, guiding and making something
new. The word is Jesus, Gods word made flesh. The establishment of understanding, of the interplay
of action and relationship literally builds us into the Kingdom. So to have Jesus's word is salvation,
is the meaning of His will, shows us His intentions and His ways. The seeds are the results of the full
establishment of His revelation and workings in our hearts, which create new expressions in us
which is the harvest to eternal life.
So let us dwell on it all, morning, afternoon, and night. Let it be our aspiration and our desire, our whole
strength poured out to our loving heavenly King, Amen.
