I have read many many books and of great interest to all Christians are the EARLY writings... There is Eusebius who wrote History of the Church not long after Jesus Ascended...

He was not canonized, though... There are canonized saints who also came from the same time period.. wrote a lot about what was going on in the 1st century... Again.. lots of Catholic "stuff"... But i guess you'd have to be Catholic yourself to SEE the Catholic stuff... whatever...

we all have choices.. and it is human nature to believe what we want to believe...

about partaking of the Body of Christ (Eucharist) while in mortal sin (and/or while not being in full communion w/ t he Church ie: when you are not "officially" Catholic)

Not in my 10 versions of the bible. Not one of them mentions the catholic church.

The catholic church does teach this. Problem is people that advocate abortion dont care. They are IMO devoid of any conscience or ability to believe in God.

people in Congress have seen the gory pictures of murdered babies in trash cans, seen these over and over and still promote abortion.

no conscience

These people rule in the world but in the next life, the Beast will rule over them... and he has no mercy

Yes, I read that she was a "co- redemptress" with Christ. That she could save people and/or forgive sin. Now you're here I can ask someone directly. Been a while so I couldn't tell you exactly where I read up on it.

co-redemptrix (spelling?) does not mean she has the power to forgive/wash away sin. It just means that she helps Jesus to save people. And I KNOW she does... I know from my own personal experiences w/ her.. (which experiences are not always easy to articulate, esp on the forums.. I mean, you know, we are not face to face in person and all..

There is a lot of anti-Catholic stuff floating around in society. And w hen someone hates someone or some thing.. human nature to think that someone/some thing is totally evil and bad... and so things are twisted/distorted.. Also, the devil wants to keep people away from things like the rosary, the sacraments.. anything that helps us get to Heaven...

it is narrow because it involves a lot of... how do I say it? well, let's just say it aint called Narrow for now reason... Following Christ means NOT following the ways of the world.. and most of us like to be comfortable in the world... or at least.. well, u know what I'm saying. it hurts sometimes to feel like a total weirdo.. which is what the worldly ones think of Christians

Well, I don't hate Catholics, so we can take that off the table from the get go. There are somethings I agree on with them, some I don't. Can you explain, using Scripture, how Mary helps save people? We know Mary needed Christ as her own Savior, so I'm not sure I'm understanding how she could help save a person.

what? Are u saying that only those without sin can HELP us find Jesus and/or stay on the Narrow Road? Then why bother getting married? If your spouse does not help you in this Most Important Endeavor in Life... then you married the wrong person or maybe no one should marry?

People help us get to Heaven (if they are good people of course. No... wait.. Even bad people can help, albeit not intentionally... but I digress).

Why wouldn't the very Mother of Jesus also help.. ? and why wouldn't she be the best one of all to help us stay with Jesus? She stayed with Jesus for years in her earthly life and now t hey are together in Heaven...

God is not a misogynist.. (as the world in general tends to be )

But that wasn't what we were talking about. A friend can lead you to Christ, but only Christ can save you.

These aren't accusations. I agree with a lot of opinions you have, you may have noticed. But I need you to be more clear, in what why does Mary help a person be saved. Mary is in heaven, like every other person that has passed on. So can you explain with Scripture how Mary helps save a person. I didn't grow up with this so it's totally new to me.

I'm not sure what the purpose of this thread is.

Catholic law is very simple. If someone is in a mortal state of sin they can't receive communion. To us Catholic folk it is literally the flesh and blood of our risen Lord Jesus Christ himself and therefore we must be as pure as we can be to be able to accept it.

My parents divorced, so they don't take it anymore. I myself have not received it in 28 years and won't because I'm in a state of mortal sin.

If a priest, Bishop or Cardinal knowingly hands out communion to a great sinner, well they are not upholding their own belief system.

We were warned about this at Fatima.

"Take the Body and the Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by thankless men. Recover their sins, and comfort your God.4

So, God is deeply offended by those who receive Holy Communion unworthily, and they must repent of these sacrileges. The clear message here is that sacrileges against the Eucharist will not go unpunished. Someone must do penance for these offences.
