It is interesting that so many refuse to accept what scripture clearly expresses. Receiving the Holy Ghost produces the evidence of speaking in tongues as stated by the Apostle Peter. I could include many other references but the following is evidence of when "Pentecostal" began.
"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 2:4
"This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear." Acts 2:32-33
we don't do that as we all, most of us have said in unbiblical. YET you continue to ignore that because of your hateful spirit.

If so, then the first Christians with the Holy Spirit out of the bible, you will find 1900 in Topeka, USA.
And I never met Christians during my whole life in germany.
But I know I have received the Holy Spirit and I got also an gift, as the bible says.
True, it says: Don't forbid speaking in tongues; but, it doesn't say: Don't forbid speaking gibberish, which, I'm sorry to say, is what passes for tongues these days.
YOu don't understand the Holy Spirit. No one said you don't have the Holy Spirit. YOu think Pentecostals are, No we are not.
IT was Jesus who said you shall receive Power after the Holy Spirit comes upon you. You do not understand upon over in you.
Every person who is saved has the Holy Sprit in them, yet not all have been empowered yet due to the Holy Spirit has not come upon them to do A WORK.
iT WAS Jesus WHO SAID IN THE Gospel of John chapter 14
17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
He will be with you and in you. You can see this throughout the Bible in both Old and New Testaments
The Spirit of the Lord came upon David, Samson, Elijah Moses. The Prophet Joel in chapter two is talking about that very thing.
FYI King Saul and Samson both had the Holy Spirit come upon them YET The Holy Spirit the Spirit of the Lord departed from them both.
I've studied Parham quite thoroughly. What I posted, as I mentioned in my original post, was a very short history. It was never intended to be a complete bio of Parham, but to show the origins of what would later become Pentecostalism.
I know Parham was horrified by what he witnessed at Azusa when he visited there.

I am not a Parham fan. I'm sure you are far more perfect than he.
One's opinion of what they will and will not accept from the Word will determine where they will spend eternity.
The actual truth regarding who the bible applies to is found within it's pages:
The inspired Word of God applies to every single person until Jesus returns: "For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope." Rom 15:4-5
The inspired Word of God is where every answer can be found if one chooses to search for it. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works" 2 Tim 3:16-17
The inspired Word of God is what every single person will be judged upon on Judgement Day:
"He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." John 12:48

Sozo and Sotiria when Jesus is speaking Salvation, Healing, and deliverance are normative = being saved and having Salvation.
DO you know why they are when Jesus is speaking? Because Salvation is one of eternity and saved is today, tomorrow, and forever.
IF you knew what Jesus does when HE saved you which is not just removed from the payment of SIN that would have been enough for the eternal soul, Jesus is concerned about the whole man Body soul, and spirit.
He work on the Cross saved one from hell raises up the dead body because of remove death and heals and delivers. HE is the resurrection and Life who will call up the body and we shall be changed in twinkling of an eye.
excuse me I have asked you. and you don't if you did not google what saved is in Greek you would not have known.
In every example of today's Speaking in Tongues is gibberish to you?
And by what authority do you have to claim that is not how Paul sounded like?
The only example of the first Tongues is given from the Upper Room.
As much as Paul and Peter differ, how are you certain if you heard Paul Speaking in Tongues it would not sound like gibberish?
Scripture as provided shows that Pentecostal beliefs began on the Day of Pentecost. And these truths have continued throughout history and will continue until Jesus returns.
