From the content of my post it is evident I belive in believing Jesus, one does what He teaches.

When one believes Him, one acts accordingly. You do not just say, oh I belive you, then giggle and walk away.

The Gospel is as necessary in every part of the USA as it is in every part of the world. But nobody in America (or the world) can claim that they have never heard of Jesus.

Wow that's startling, but that's a good point actually. It's possible to go to church and still not hear the gospel. I went to a new church last year and they pulled me to the side and sorta just asked me if I'm a Christian. I told them yes, but at least they asked. I still never heard the gospel presented there, though, come to think about it.

i'm sorry, i don't know what denomination she went to. only that she grew up in New England.

not only is it possible to go to a church for years and never hear the gospel, but it's possible to spend one's whole life in a church hearing a false gospel. this woman, the 'gospel' she heard was salvation by altruism. her 'being basically a good person' is supposed to 'earn' her way to 'heaven' by good works - while she hardly knows what a good work is!

how many people have we met here on CC who go about saying something similar? they'll say, salvation is by keeping the 10 commandments, voting republican and staying away from beer. and some of these are preachers!

I never thought of it like that until you pointed it out. What is the "reached world?" It's almost disarming like we can now just stop spreading the gospel because they have been "reached."

Jesus said "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" while new creatures are being made all the time. Seems like the work of an evangelist never really ends.

In my experiences I have met people who don't seem to know who Jesus is. We can't take for granted that people are even getting a chance to hear about Jesus Christ given that our society is so secular.

You are right, the same thing applies in Australia. Even my atheist father agreed that we kids should go to Sunday School. It was a convenient, free child minding service to him. So I knew some Bible basics. I've witnessed to people who've never heard of Adam and Eve or Noah, let alone Abraham, Moses or Jacob. Until every soul has heard the gospel, I don't believe we can say "job done", wherever we are geographically.

I thought everything just started from Jerusalem and it went out from there to the ends of the earth, so, USA is included along with every other country, to...Antarctica and the North Pole, Mt Everest to the people living in underground mines in Australia, and even the inhabitants of Easter Island.

The US is probably the most "reached" country in the world. However, I'm not convinced the right message has been preached. Americans from the very beginning of this nation have tended to create God in their image. By that I mean the ideas about God and Jesus have shifted and changed with almost every generation. This is evidenced by all the denominations there are. Get a new conception of what Jesus is supposed to be? Start a new denomination or cult. This is due in large part by the belief that God sanctions anything an American does and our fierce independence and self-reliance. I'm an American, and America has a divine mandate, how can I be wrong?

The problem is complex, but we shouldn't stop reaching out. Maybe now is the best time for reaching out. People have seen it all and perhaps now they're ready for the truth.

Its every nation and its not is the USA its.. are you and me taking HIs word out into the world. Fact for each of us .. should always be witnessing for Him. Yeah if He was walking with you.. oh then we would not be scared where we shared the word. Then we would be willing to to lose it all. Yet since we can't see Him feel Him hear Him..

Yes there are so many ministries that are right now reaching every nation around the world. We don't know much about this because we focus one something they said that made the news.. yet what some of them have been doing since they came to Christ.. its awesome, wonderful. Some just from the phone thousand come to Christ ever week.

some people have this idea that the 'old world' was europe and the 'new world' was america. but then they kinda forgot about Africa and Asia and the Pacific Islands. And everywhere else. The world is round ya know.

so its kind of of a silly question. Jesus said the gospel is to reach the ends of the earth. He didnt say go underwater, but I reckon everywhere thats dry land is game.
