I myself put this on 1.25 speed w/o a problem. There was a more intense study STURP done in the 70's.
I'll take a look... I use 2x speed... LoL... But i know there has been many attempts to refute it and all the wounds are so precise...
I think it could possibly be

If its real its either Christ or someone who really got bashed up just as bad...
But a normal man does not leave such an image on cloth

If its fake then its a piece of genius cos no one can figure out how on earth it was done

Well... 17th century theologian Leo Allatius said that Christs foreskin had ascended into heaven to become the rings of Saturn
:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
Oh man... Imagine it is actually true...
For centuries, people have simply not been able to come up with better things to think about...

SMH

Oh dear! This means the splinter of the cross Jesus was hung on, that I bought at the Vatican courtyard from a guy who had 14 watches on his arm, might also be fake!

I'm with Gideon300. Whether it's real or fake, it won't make any difference to my worldview.
If all the supposed splinters of the cross were put together, it would be a small forest. It's as good as the supposed skull of John the Baptist. When an expert pointed out that it was the skull of a 14 year old boy, the priest said, straight faced, that it was John the Baptist when he was 14.

It can't be disproven and if I remember there was a separate cloth. Now I'll have to watch it again but there is no doubt for me. The idea that a 'Christian' would fake it to prove the resurrection, doesn't jive and why in the world would some unbeliever go through all that work to prove it, doesn't work either. They proved so may features could not have been faked, as much as they tried.
Ok back to my movie now, y'all have a good one.
This type of "proof" is intended to demonstrate to the world that the Roman CAtholic version of Christianity is true. Some people think it's necessary to find that kind of proof. It's similar to the attempts to find Noah's ark or where the Israelites crossed the Red Sea. The gospel is God's power to save, not artifacts or desperate attempts to prove the Bible true. Even if people believe the facts, it does not save until the individual accepts Christ.

Ahah a small forest... Nice one...

I think the crusaders claimed they the cross and used to take it into battle before it got lost in battle

Like I've stated this isn't a matter of salvation. The fact that modern day tech can't make an exact image like the Shroud is quite remarkable. Catholics did not do the studies they helped save it. I haven't heard of Shroud groupies.

And this is the truth. Think of the RCC as an improperly catalogued museum of the bizarre when it comes to relics.

You also have to remember that when these things were supposedly found, the technology and fingertip knowledge we all take for granted today was simply not available - it was largely down to the word of the person who found it and how trustworthy they were.

So we have to research the person or persons who found it and question why they are presenting a perfect representation of the burial Shroud of Jesus?
I see it as a beautiful blessing God left for some to consider and stand in awe of His greatness and others see it as some kind of falsehood someone took the time to create for some uncouth reason. Not a matter of salvation, thank God, whichever one believes.

Do you reckon. it was Gods glory that left an imprint or something.
You know how the bleeding woman just wanted to touch the hem of His garment and sHe would be healed?
Do people believe or have there been any records of miraculous healings from touching this shroud?

Just curious.

I recall some archaeolgists did find Jesus fishing boat or one similar. What else had He left behind? I think if I were an archealogist, I would go after the sandals. We know from John the baptist, that Jesus wore them and was very particular about them. Maybe he wore them to heaven though...

I was talking more in general terms and to those who have brought up the subject of the church holding onto all sorts of things other than the shroud specifically. Believe me, there are a lot of things sitting in churches, especially through Europe.

But back to the shroud and your mention of it being the image of God. Latest imaging technology has allowed us to create a 3d image of the body. So, if the image is authentic, then this is what Jesus looked like. Fascinating stuff!

Interesting little video...
Christ has long been depicted in art as having a beard and long hair... I think long before the shroud was made public...
Just a thought...
But for me, until someone can show me how it was faked then it could possibly be authentic

I watched the video... He uses 8 lines of reasoning to make a compelling argument...

I especially liked the first one... We don't even have the capability to shine a light onto a cloth a replicate that. It would need thousands of mega watts of power...

How else could it have been done... My "possibly" is turning into a "probably" now I think

So, this happened in Kerala, India in 2013. No denying that the face is similar to that of the shroud. This one is currently being scientifically evaluated.

I was kind of wondering, perhaps the opposite of you. I have heard said that the shroud is the "most studied" object, etc. If that is true, what is the need of all this study if not to reach a desired outcome or proof? Test, test again and keep testing until you get it.

Testing has been done and is inconclusive.

Whatever it is, it's a graven image.

The reason I believe it is a graven image is because I don't believe this shroud object manifests the Glory of God on earth nor do I believe he uses objects to glorify himself. He uses his word to save. He is a jealous god and will not share his praise with any graven image.
Very interesting point. I had never considered the shroud to be a graven image, nor knew that people worshipped it. My reasoning was similar to what TabinRivCA pointed out. Jesus rising from the dead is a historical fact. There may have been some evidence of this miracle left behind, such as the Turin shroud. If this is evidence of the miracle, the minions of Satan will do all they can to deny it, as they do with Noah's ark.

However, you raised a second motive, in that if this shroud is or becomes an item of worship (such as a graven image), it will be serving the purposes of the devil, so that would indeed be motive to keep investigating it (and finding nothing conclusive).

The truth is, I don't know, but don't care very much even if legitimate, as I don't think it makes convincing evidence of Jesus' resurrection (i.e. certainly not evidence moreso than the gospels and other accounts).

Hahaha i can't help but laugh... Its most likely fake...
Jews don't keep their foreskins preserved in jars as far as i know, do they? Would Mary or Joseph want to keep it as a memento?

18 claimed Holy Foreskins hey... LoL... I know there been heaps

Its been the subject of much speculation in the past. Would the foreskin have risen up to heaven as well???

Well... 17th century theologian Leo Allatius said that Christs foreskin had ascended into heaven to become the rings of Saturn
:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
Oh man... Imagine it is actually true...

That still cracks me up but it was taken seriously at the time. There were too many claimed foreskins in circulation so they tried to wipe the floor with them all using that theory... Look into it M_Y... The rings of Saturn
Lol. Funny and gross. There wasn't an appropriate icon, so just rated your post funny. But gross as well. People have sick minds, no? I mean, the Holy Grail I can understand, or the Spear of Destiny... but *that*... what would they do with it anyway, put it on a display?
