Tattoos would be wrong because it goes against how God created us for however He created us is how it should stay for we are His creation, His design, so why would we alter that.

God said I created you like this because that is the way I like it, and you are going to say I want a tattoo because that is the way I like it.

Would a person like it if they painted a painting the way they like it and somebody came along and altered it for they will say that is not the way I like it.

The truth is the body looks better without tattoos but to the sinful they think it looks cool.

Tattoos do not make sense to me.

Tattoos and long hair on a man seem like rebellion.

When the 1960's counterculture movement happened with the attitude do your own thing, and rebellion against authority whatever it may be the men grew their hair long.

When America was more God fearing like before the 1960's they had their hair short and no weird body piercings and then when the 1960's came they started slowly slipping in to rebellion, and now many atheists, hypocrites, more sinful activity, and long hair, and tattoos, and weird body piercings, and weird for men to have ear rings anyway even if they did not have them anywhere else.

I don't know...you really feel like long hair is a sign of rebellion?

Sure it may go against an established "norm" but just because something is a norm doesn't mean it's good or bad from my view.

I know people have the 50s on a pedastal but I'm sure there was plenty of pharasaical nonsense floating around that was equally (more of less) as disgusting to the Lord prior to the "60s" albeit in a different way for sure.

Granted there is that ONE verse that is pretty vague as it isn't designed to be legalistic (in my view). Something to consider to be sure, but pinpointing is difficult for me

The New Testament speaks of traditions of mankind which are , simply put, harmless. It is like images or statues of any kind, if they are worshipped, they are wrong, period. I do not believe people caught up in the fashion of tattoos or having family album photos is sinful. Rememberr unless the individua is aaware he or she is sinning, there is no guilt. It is in the Book.

Your reasoning is faulty. A few applications will illustrate...

A woman with a genetic predisposition to obesity tries to lose the excess weight; your logic says, "But God made you fat; why would you try to change it?"

A socially awkward person signs up for a class in self-confidence and small talk; your logic say, "But God made you a wallflower; why would you try to change it?"

A thin, physically weak man starts going to the gym, lifting weights and building his muscles; your logic says, "But God made you scrawny; why would you want to change it?"

Perhaps this ONE verse:

"And the sign said long-haired freaky people need not apply...."

Jesus was VERY clear of these last days of how we are to take everything to Him, I have yet to know of anyone who has been guided by our Lord and Savior to mutilate their body, quite the opposite, we were bought with a price, we MUST glorify Him in and with our body.
I know of people who have experienced supernatural removal of tattoos after accepting Christ and making Him lord of their lives. I know on NO ONE who woke up with one He gave.

The traditions of man that are harmless amount to birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, promotions, and much more.

As long as the tradition is not said to be commandment from our Father, it cannot be labeled as evil dimply a human practice, that is unless it is practiced with guilt, then the one lacking faith is sinning

Experts on interrpreting the Word of God should not be so liberal with it as to condemn the innocent out of ignorance...

I disagree with your assessment.

I stand fully in support of MattforJesus!

He said:

1. Tattoos would be wrong because they go against how God created us for however He created us is how it should stay for we are His creation, His design, so why would we alter that.

2. God said I created you like this because that is the way I like it, and are you going to say I want a tattoo because that is the way I like it?

3. Would a person like it if they painted a painting the way they like it and somebody came along and altered it for they will say that is not the way I like it.

4. The truth is the body looks better without tattoos but to the sinful they think it looks cool.

5. Tattoos do not make sense to me.

6. Tattoos and long hair on a man are clearly rebellion.

7. When the 1960's counterculture movement happened with the attitude of do your own thing, and rebellion against authority, then rebellious men grew their hair long.

8. When America was more God fearing like before the 1960's they had their hair short and no weird body piercings. But when the 1960's came they started slipping in to rebellion, and now many atheists, hypocrites, indulge in even more sinful activity, with freaky long hair, and sick tattoos, and weird body piercings; it’s weird for men to have earrings, even if they did not have them anywhere else.

I support MattforJesus for his courage, for standing bravely for the truth, and exposing the idiotic and nauseating behaviour of those who oppose the truth - this bunch of hypocritical pseudo-Christians.

I think the Evil Fagin who presides over this criminal club of Bible-ignorant, Bible-illiterate and evil-minded pseudochristians is this guy, JaumeJ. He certainly has blood on his hands. His opinions are not worth the garbage dumped in a single street in Batticaloa town.

And this tourist, being a tourist, is permitted to visit heaven once in a hundred years, and then go back to his permanent residence in one of the lower chambers of Dante’s Inferno. Heaven is charitable enough to offer him this single concession for his freaky humour.

I think, Jaume, you qualify to be a minor priest under Jeroboam or a petty false prophet under Jezebel. You have enough of crookedness in your corrupt character to twist, ignore & dilute clear Bible injunctions, commands and warnings, so as to suit the defiled tastes of your delinquent clientele. The fact that you encourage people to mutilate their bodies shows how hardened you are!

Actually, @Jaume is a well respected long-time member of this site and is spiritually sound and well-balanced.

I am talking about the appearance of our body when we are born, and I am not talking about the character, or the behavior of the person later on in life.

When we are born we are not born with tattoos so why put tattoos on you if God did not put tattoos on you when you are born.

Why do we alter the way God created us being born.

We did not come out of the womb with piercings, and tattoos, for that is the way God wanted it to be so why change the appearance of your body if God did not want us to be born that way and we are His creation according to how the body looks.

If a person paints a picture the way they like do they like if another person changes the appearance of it when it is their painting.

God does not want us to change the appearance of our body because it is His creation.

If a person is scrawny it has nothing to do with altering your body in a bad way for it is not marring up the body, and we get stronger from our activities without lifting weights, so it is a good thing which God said body exercise profits us.

But He did not say tattoos, and piercings profit us.

Do not mar the Creator's creation.

You are always welcome to disagree with me or with anyone. Sometimes it helps to post with your understanding elaborated upon. I did this for all concerned and will continue to practice what I expect others to understand of me.

If you do not care for anything I posts it is totally within your sphere of right and action. I thank you for always being so frank with me. God bless you in your walk with Jesus-Yeshua.

“These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6:16-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Although I would not and could not be that clear, he really does seem to miss the mark, in this and other areas.

It always is the intellectual that calls my simplistic approach to understanding as you have here. May you be blessed always by our Lord, Jesus-Yeshua, and may you always learn from Him, amen

I may only rejoice in your atttack on my person, soul, mind, and heart. Jesus-Yeshua has taught me to rejoice in such matters, and I do. I am not worthy in this regard, but it is His teaching to rejoice. Praqise God for the likes of you and all like you, amen.
