And again, that "someone new" needs to be someone who believes the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with a 1st day of the week resurrection, and who thinks that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb, and who tries to explain the lack of a 3rd night by saying that the Messiah was employing common figure of speech/colloquial language of the period.

In post #1062 the phrase "...and who thinks that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb..."
should be changed to "...and who thinks that the "heart of the earth is referring to the tomb or at the earliest to when His spirit left His body at the moment He died".

As a minimum, posts #1045 thru #1060 deal with issues for a different topic. This topic deals with one issue and only one issue: i.e., the commonality of forecasting or saying that a daytime or a night time would be involved with an event when no part of a daytime or no part of a night time could occur.

Whenever the three days and three nights of Matthew 12:40 is brought up in a "discussion" with 6th day crucifixion folks, they frequently argue that it is a Jewish idiom for counting any part of a day as a whole day. I wonder if anyone has documentation that shows that the phrase "x" days and "x"nights was ever used in the first century or before when it didn’t include at least parts of the "x" days and at least parts of the "x" nights?
what do you mean when it’s brought up ? And what’s the sixth day crucifixion ?

are we talking about whether it was literally 72 full hours ? Or just parts of three consecutive days ?

As I wrote previously, the topic title and OP were poorly conceived with regard to the intent of the topic. Unfortunately the title couldn't be edited once it was posted. However, it has been clarified in a number of subsequent posts and most recently in post #987.

The Messiah said that He would be three days and three nights in the "heart of the earth"

There are those who think that the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with the resurrection taking place on the 1st day of the week.

Of those, there are some who think that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb.

A 6th day of the week crucifixion/1st day of the week resurrection allows for only 2 nights to be involved.

To account for the lack of a 3rd night, there may be some of those mentioned above who say that the Messiah was employing common figure of speech/colloquial language.

I simply wonder if anyone who falls in that group of believers could provide examples to support that belief; i.e., instances where a daytime or a night time was forecast or said to be involved with an event when no part of a daytime and/or no part of a night time could have occurred.

So again, the topic request for examples is with regard to the commonality of forecasting a daytime or a night time when no part of a daytime or no part of a night time could occur.

It does to the folks who argue for a 6th day crucifixion. Do you have any information asked for in the OP?
Jesus died on one day :) rose again on another. If you are dead today you died on that day. And if you remained dead for two more days you would have been dead for three days If you rose on the third day and were only dead on that day for 6 hours and rose again The truth that you were still dead on that day doesn't mean you were not dead for 6 hours LOL.

the 6 days week is mote the devil is using foolishness to take away from what happened a man was dead for three days and came back to life AS HE said HE would with all power and Glory HIS. And we want to debate days ?
