Jesus is also quoted saying that long hair on men is a disgrace.
Jesus never said that so you will not find a quote from him saying that.

i find no man anywhere capable of leading others to the truth, but only our Great Shephard, through His Spirit, uses men and women alike as He sees fit. God is the one who opens hearts and minds to see and understand.
also pretty sure de-emerald is a man?
i do apologize for bringing up all these other things, and i do not know whether Mssr. Singh really teaches that *real Christians* never sin or stumble, or if he simply phrased some things in ways that could have been said better, and i took off and ran with them.
what i ought to have done is stick with my comment that i found nowhere in the book explanation for why God decorated His tabernacle & temple with images, nor did i find any support for calling all images evil. that was the only point i wanted to make when i wrote, and i said more than i should have.
all of us here in this conversation need to find a way to work out our offenses in love. we're not enemies, but children of one Father, because all of us here have put our trust in Christ. our enemy is the one who would have us angry with each other in our hearts. we will have disagreements on many things, on people, on ideas, even on doctrines and interpretations. but we should not disagree about love; it is by our love for one another that the world is to know we are Christians: this is what Jesus told us.
i think it's clear that Charish is from India or Pakistan or . . ? somewhere in this area -- and his culture is patriarchal, as Middle Eastern culture is too -- while we are here in America which is decidedly different in its thinking. whether one or the other is more right than the other, i don't want to get into arguments about right now.
i'm not offended by his comment about a man's place being head over a woman.
Thats ok, your right everybody falls short in nature. people get annoyed,i think every single one of us who spend time in the Bible Discussion Forum ((BDF)) have felt the same way. and we've turned around and made others feel the same too.
we have to figure out a way to be zealous for the truth and be loving and kind and forgiving towards each other at the same time.
we all do. we're all awful at it.
we're family. we fuss and poke at each other but at the end of the day we sit down together and eat from the same table
take a break and pray. i know. come back and be better than the things that hurt you ♥
it's a world of hurt people hurting each other, and we're being redeemed from it
rarrrrrrrrrrrr de-emerald is from the line of juda haAnd, as regards, De-emer, I am pretty sure she’s a woman. I am sorry that you felt she was a man. No man will behave in that brittle, over-excitable, feminine fashion. Perhaps a good rest in the salubrious surroundings of upstate NY or the more temperate Blue Mountains further south would do her good. With no Internet, of course!![]()
This comment shows your inadequate knowledge of geography. “India, Pakistan, or...” is not Middle Eastern! We have Middle East, South Asia, South East Asia and the Far East.
I said I surmise that you are from in or near the Indian subcontinent, that the culture there is patriarchal, and that the culture of the Middle East is also patriarchal.
To indicate that the Bible was written by a patriarchal society ((in the Levant)) and that in this respect the culture of India et al. is closer to the culture of the peoples of scripture than the culture of the USA.

Thank you for not being offended “by his comment about a man's place being head over a woman.” I never used that statement, but it is 100% true.
And P.S., Posthuman, I love you with Christian love.

Agreed; his culture is decidedly not Western. However, that is no excuse for making denigrating comments about women.i think it's clear that Charish is from India or Pakistan or . . ? somewhere in this area -- and his culture is patriarchal, as Middle Eastern culture is too -- while we are here in America which is decidedly different in its thinking. whether one or the other is more right than the other, i don't want to get into arguments about right now.

Who? Never heard of her.For all those blowing their top and having an apoplectic fit, here is the final conclusive report on the subject, by the reputed Dr Jack Hyles.
It does not reflect well on you when you violate the teachings of Scripture while attempting to teach others about Scripture. If you have a problem with me, then talk to me about it, not to PostHuman.Postman, I find another high-strung lady, who, based on your false interpretation of God's Dwelling Place by BS, insists that:
"Someone who teaches sinless perfection, and is accused of teaching sinless perfection, is NOT being slandered." Frankly, I think you have just rushed thru the book GDP and passed a hasty and unwarranted judgment on it. There is no sinless perfection in the book! I hope you will retract your statement. Too many gullible and vulnerable women (2 Tim 3.6; I hesitate to use the KJV expression) are being misled by your hasty and unwarranted judgment.
I beseech you (a Pauline expression) to read the book again! The passage you quoted refers to the power of the Blood to cleanse and give life. It has nothing to do with sinless perfection!
P.S. The lady adds that she has never heard of the person! Most Americans don't know what's happening in the rest of the world. If she has never heard of BS, the least she could have done was to get to know about him, and read the little book titled God's Dwelling Place.
MY RESPONSE TO A FALSE NEWSFLASH
I am responding to this post which has vilified a great man of God. The lady in question should not have spread slander against him in this way. Here is my point-by-point rebuttal:
1. A book that preaches sinless perfection.
Reply: The book in question is 'God's Dwelling Place', one of the simplest clearest expositions on the Tabernacle. Nowhere does the writer preach sinless perfection.
2. The passage quoted by the LIQ (lady in question) does NOT preach sinless perfection. It simply talks about the power of the Blood of Jesus.
3. Postman Hunter's paraphrase is a gross misrepresentation of the passage on the power of the precious Blood. He has vilified a great man of God. He has to apologize on this forum and also confess this grave sin before God. Postman has also upset the LIQ with his false paraphrase. She being of an emotional (and not spiritual) temperament has been so agitated that she has slandered me, saying that I believe in sinless perfection. What a joke! I stand strongly on 1 John 1.9, 10. Every day I ask the Lord to show me where I have failed, and I confess before Him.
4. The LIQ say that she recieved a prayer last week from the holy spirit telling me he (charish) has been corrupted by sinless perfection. I beg to submit that she should stop receiving such prayers (or visions or dreams or whatever) and start reading the Bible, preferably on her knees. God will judge all of us by HIS INFALLIBLE WORD.
5. I forgive the LIQ fully for her unseemly behaviour. I notice that whenever I speak the truth and stand by it, the devil gets very upset and he targets me with arrows of slander and vilification.
6. Postman, I forgive you too. You have misjudged the man of God, BS, and you need to read that book again. If it does not open your eyes to the truth about the tabernacle, then I say 'God help you!'.
7. The LIQ, instead of showing the picture of God's Dwelling Place has shown a wrong picture of another book The Temple & The Tabernacle by JDH. I don't want her to apologize to JDH, bec he will just laugh over this silly 'storm in a teacup'.
8. I find the men here in CC incapable of guiding the women in matters of truth. Therefore the men are responsible. Otherwise God will take them to task for misleading these silly high-strung ladies.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
MAY YOU COME INTO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.
(And P.S. Don't ever slander the dead (esp great men of God), because you will have to face the wrath of God (God who says, Touch not my anointed ones!)

Jesus never said that so you will not find a quote from him saying that.
So we turn from Jesus hair to bashing women, interesting. So all women are just so brittle and over emotional and "excitable" you can't talk to them? What kind of a blanket statement is that?!
